I managed to find a site where you can put your route in and it will tell you how far it is but I can't find it now - any suggestions?
I want to put a 5k route in for the RFL0 -

Running with a pram??! That is so admirable...i can barely hold my water bottle and run LOL But I won't give up! I will start tomorrow morniing as a run but if I cna't do it I will walk and pick up week 5. I feel far more positive today...thanks everyone for the encouragement. I have to go out tonight so I will have my kit all laid out, no excuses for the morning.
And K9 that is fab. Well Done - when is your RfL?
I am looking for one of those little round water bottles like a donut that you can easily hold. I can't seem to find one - even on EBay but I see loads of them around. Does anyone know where I may be able to find one? Cheap of course :O)The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -

It's not a round water bottle but JJB do a triangle shaped one, great for holding as you run though it doesn't hold a great amount of water, i suppose it depends on how much you need. I run with my 11 yr old and somehow I have to carry the water for both of us.
The issue of water is a strange one though and I wonder if it's due to the lifestyles we are all told to lead now. I'm 39 and have just started running again after a 20 year break. 20 years ago I never carried water and used to run 10 miles a day no bother. Strange, I would never have considered it then, though we did stick a fiver in our socks in case we saw a pub we fancied!!!!0 -
Thanks Alan. I did have a look at JJB a few weeks ago but they didn't have anything like it, but you have given me an idea..my friend goes to a JJB gym, I will ask her to have a look at the gym.
And this morning I did it!! I managed to get back on track and it felt great.
Today's activity was a 30 minute free exercise - as Monday was so awful I wanted to do some running. I managed a 3 minute run, a 3 minute walk, a 2 minute run, 2 minute walk and then a few repetitons of 1 and 2. I was so chuffed.
And I was breathing far better this morning. Still doing a Marjorie Fat Fighters impersonation but I think I may have been running too fast before, I slowed right down this morning and really noticed a difference. The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -

Hi Claudie.....
Regarding your breathing, try chewing gum.
I know we were always told when growing up not to chew gum when running but that was more down to parents being fussy.
The idea behind using chewing gum is that it occupies your mouth and takes the focus away from getting into some kind of rhythmical breathing pattern. You will naturally take in the oxygen you need and find that by chewing you procude more saliva, thus stop your mouth getting either dry.
Hope this helps.....:T
