Claudie do you still have the link for this??

I think this is what you are looking for.

I found it perfect for running with my Ipod as I never got on with the arm strap - I often see people running with no music, no water and I just don't know how they do it.

Just thought you may have meant this?

Just managed 25 mins and my calf is fine. Walked on the hill - doctors orders. It`s really foggy here, so it was quite eerie in the fog and the silence. Off to London on Sunday, so I can have a run round the West End before my daughter wakes up.
    I`m back!

It sure does. But I must remember to build up gradually. I`ve missed a couple of months and I`m not getting any younger. Daughters and ex-wife have told me to give it up. Not until the doc says I have to.

If you go to https://www.myasics.com you can set up your own training schedule based on the distance you hope to achieve (I started at 5km), the time you can run for - 1 min, 2 min etc, your age etc and they make up a pretty good schedule - plenty rest days and they base the running plan on time (walk for 3 min, run for 2 min ....) rather than distance so its easy enough to follow outside around the streets without having to measure where you are going etc.

Just come across this thread and am finding it very informative.

I already have ‘Running Made Easy’ and about to embark on my new schedule, however I need a good pair of trainers first.

I’ve been on https://www.runnersworld.co.uk and various other website and although I have a ‘normal’ foot, think I should go for a motion control shoe as I weigh 13st 2lb (down from 14 and a half) and am 5‘ 11”.

The ones I was thinking of getting are http://milletsports.co.uk/productmore.php?pid=5064.

Any comments/suggestions or other feedback appreciated.

    Thanks,
    L

i get those pains from time to time, but nothing to do with running. i find a hot bath helps me.

i used to think they were growing pains, now i dont know what they are. but they're painful - you have my sympathies
