I have week 1, week 2 and week 9 running podcasts downloaded, I started with week 9???? Then had to manually downlaod the subscribe option didn't work, it was a while ago I did it..... I'll have a look
Right, if you search podcasts running in itunes the running podcasts are the first result, click on the little arrow by where it says podcasts for running & wait for it to connect then it lists all 9 podcasts at the bottom of the page - good luck.

Some weeks I found much harder than others and we actually repeated a few weeks as we found the increase in running time tough. I think it was week 5 or 6 but I can't remember off the top of my head.
But keep going - it does get easier and it is achievable!! If I did it, anybody can
Got this yesterday from Zest - looks like Running Made Easy 2nd Edition is underway - any volunteers??
Dear Running Made Easy reader,
Hi there, hope you’re well. You are one of the many readers of our book who
contacted Susie and myself (or wrote to Zest) during the three years that
Running Made Easy has been in print, and I hope you’re still running - and
loving it!
Running Made Easy has been such a success (with over 32,000 copies sold)
that we are now doing a second edition, and I would like to ask for your
help. Firstly, please could you let me know if you have any objection to us
using your name and a short excerpt from your letter in the new edition?
Also, please could you let me have your occupation and the age you’ll be in
April 2008 (the month the new book will be published) in case our publisher
wants to include that information?
We are also looking for two female real success stories (the one-page
inspiring weight-loss articles at the beginning of the book), so if you (or
a friend, relative or colleague) lost weight because our book inspired you
to run, please do send me a brief synopsis of your story and email me a
‘before’ and ‘after’ photograph. Two readers will be chosen for the book,
but we’re also looking for women who lost weight through diet and exercise
to feature in Zest magazine. We’re looking for women aged between 20 and 45
as that’s Zest’s target market. Unfortunately we can’t pay you for your
story, but if it’s featured in the magazine you’ll participate in a
photoshoot and be sent a photograph of your ‘after’ photo. If you’re
featured in the book, we’d use the photos you sent us (but you’d be the
envy of your friends!)
And if you know of an extraordinarily inspiring runner who used running to
help beat an alcohol or drug addiction, and who’d like to be featured in
the Extraordinary Runners (Get Amazed!) section, please do ask them to get
in touch.
I am on holiday from next week for two weeks (5 to 16 March), so please
don't be concerned if I don't reply to you immediately, but I wanted to get
the ball rolling as the copy for the book has to finished by mid April.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

So my own running went a bit pear shaped....after many trips to Drs and Hospitals and Osteopath it turns out my bad leg/back/hip wasn't just my leg, I have a slipped disc (thankfully that explains the pain!). So my running has been on hold since January and I can't believe I am about to type this but - I really miss it, especially now the mornings are getting lighter.
Hopefully I will get sorted soonish and can start up again before it gets too late - once you get a few weeks in it gets really addictive. Go on, go for it. you know you want toThe smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
Kido wrote:I want to try and start again with my running. I didn't do too badly until I got an infection which triggered off a really bad time with the Chronic Fatigue but now I'm starting to feel a bit better again I want to try and start running and swimming again to hopefully build up some strength again. The problem I have is that last time I kept pulling my calf muscles and ended up tearing one which was very painful. Can anyone recommend any warm up/warm down exercises and/or stretches to try and prevent the same thing happening again.
That sounds tough...have you had a look at the Runners World website? There is some great info there for all levels and the health section is pretty good.

Hi everyone,
I have never noticed this thread before!
My new years resolution was to try and get fit (how original! )
I don't have the time (or money) to go to a gym, so decided to try running! I had never run before.
Since January I have been going running twice a week. At first I found it VERY hard, but now it is getting a BIT easier. I can now do a 1 mile run/jog non stop - at a steady pace. I can't do hills though!so I only run on flat ground.
Last month I treated myself to some proper running trainers (under £30 from e-bay) and I do think these have helped. When I first started running I would really ache the next day (and the days after) but I think that was down to not stretching, now I do plenty of stretches both before and after.
Running is addictive!

For Kido - How long was it before you could run again?. I did the same to my calf about 6 weeks ago, and still cannot run. I can walk fine, except stairs, and can manage a fair pace, but as soon as I try to run, the pain in my calf comes back.
I think I`ll get the cycle out of the shed and see if I can exercise that way for a while.0 -
When I first started running, I used to get terrible pains in my calf musscles, both during the run (felt like my muscle was too tight) and the next day.
Now I do plenty of stretches both before and after my run, which has helped loads - I no longer get pains in my calfs. I also think it has helped that I have bought some propper running shoes.

PS Did a mile on Sunday and plan to go out again tomorrow.Busy working Mum of 3
