  • Cooee can I join in too please? :D I don't do any excerise at all and though running would be a good place to start. I used to really enjoy running as a kid but sadly didn't keep it up. I'm really unfit so I'm going to take it really steady.

I started to go for a run at weekends in December with another novice under the guidance of an experienced runner who is currently in training for the London marathon. But family committments kept me from going every weekend so small, frequent runs during the week on my own following the Zest plan might be a better idea.

I've read this thread and there are some great motivational stories on here. Thanks Claudie :T Wish me luck, hoping to start tonight :D

Well I have just done my first run!!!! (if you can call it that)
Good grief it nearly killed me!
From stepping out of my front door in what I can only describe as ridiculous clothing, to coming back only 20 mins later red faced and panting like a dog, the whole thing was awful.
BUT I am going to carry on with it because I am determined to get fit (well fitter anyway).

Sorry, just realised that that wasn't the most motivational post in the world!

If you are going to start this, do it as I am feeling very pleased with myself for actually going out and doing it, and in a very strange way, am looking forward to doing it again!

  • Well I managed my first run today :D It was cold, dark and wet but I really enjoyed it. Even managed to say hello to my neighbour when he spotted me and said 'come on, keep it up' :o

    Well done molly!

I managed an hour at the gym - 20 minutes on the bike then 16 on the treadmill, it nearly killed me so I followed it with some equipment work.

I wish I was having a toastie - just had a cherry smoothie though and it was lovely.....
