I've just been looking at the running plan on page 1, but I don't understand how running 1 minute and walking 3 minutes (x 3) adds up to 16 minutes. Surely it's 12 minutes? And how do you get home .. do you walk back or make the return journey half way through your middle rep. Am I being thick?
Also, how much would be a reasonable amount to spend on running shoes for a beginner? I'm not technically a beginner, but I haven't run since I was at school, so I might as well count myself as a beginner.
I'm too lazy to read the whole thread for the answers, so my attempts at actually getting off my rear end and running may be doomed.:rotfl:still a SF nerd no.1:o

LOL that's ok - your first 1 + 3 is followed by 3 more 1+3's so you have 4 *4 minutes =16.
I would have a go for a week or so to see how you like it; if you want to carry on like I did I would suggest going to a proper running shop and ask someone there to watch you run and recommend a shoe. That was the best thing I have done and the trainers were reduced from about £75 I think to £40 and seeing the wear I have had from them, it was well worth it

Oh my, I just about choked on my tea LOL
Thank you for the kind words but I'm no expert - I can barely run and do more walking than running; a real runner would probably have convulsions watching me :rotfl:
BUT.....what I lack in fitness and technique, I think I make up for with willingness and effort. I have made it through the 10 week plan and have managed 4 charity events. My fitness went to hel*&* in a hand basket over Christmas so I am back at square one and need as much motivation and encouragement as we can gather!
