  • Me too. I really should start running or exercising again. I did so well first time around and then the Dark nights put me off. Didnt take much did it :?

I have just discovered this thread and have decided to start running after all your motivational stories. I am going to follow the "start running" plan and see how I go. Anyone want to join me?

Thanks lee- I have printed out the running plan and am going to start on monday morning after I have taken the kids to school. Are you ready to start on monday or will you need more time?
BTW I am overweight and havent done any running in 15 years (since school!) so this is quite a challenge for me!
Good luck, and keep me posted!

Any others going to join in?

  • Whats your plan for Monday then?

I cant decide if I should go for Distance or just keep running/jogging for a set amount of time. My only problem is I dont have anywhere Flat Flat, its either slight inclines one way or declines the other way.
Think before I used to do 2miles or so.

I know I say i wanna start, i just know i will get home from work on monday, will want to do some Betting & have my Tea. now if i dont go out to do the Run before them, i wont do it, and then its completely pitch black dark

I am going to follow the plan on page 1 - so that will be (run 60 sec, walk 3 mins) x3 - total 16 mins.
Remember I am a complete novice!

Think how pleased you will be if you go out straight after work!!

Oh hi everyone and happy NY!

Thanks for bumping this up - me and my running friends were talking about how quickly we have lost our ability to run!

I started at the gym in November and have been going to classes as I can't run outside before work anymore. The classes were stopped for a few weeks and only start again Tuesday so I am going to get back at it. I think I will start the running plan ish at the gym but defo want to learn to run - again. We did so well last time it would be a shame to stop.

And shamefully I gained almost half a stone since mid - Dec, I really feel like I am starting at sqaure one - it will be nice to have company
