Hey CB
Sorry it's taken me a while to track down your diary. Lovely to see myself mentioned- thanks very much!
I'm sorry to hear that your OH lost their job but great to see all those little victories building up. All the little steps in the right direction make a big difference.

Hi all,
Have had a stressful day as took me two hours to drive 15 miles to work and ....wait for it...EIGHT AND A HALF HOURS to get home!!! Left work at 3pm and got home at 11.30pm very tired, hungry and fed up! Ended up leaving car in Lpool and getting train home, which took further 45 mins. OH met me in Lpool and we got train home together.
Am going to stay at home tomorrow and recover as I do not need another day like today.
Thank You Jellie for link to MissyMoo's new epic diary... a "must read" for all DFW'ers.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Well , get paid on Friday and the salary wont cover the monthly budget.
Last months phone bill torpedoed that....£112.37...I'm not blaming anyone but its not me who uses the phone...
Have cut everything to bare minimum but nothing left to cut...
On a positive note, had a No Spending Day today and there might be some overtime at work, which will help in Feb's Salary.
Time to batten down the hatches financially speaking...DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Sounds like you need to head over to the up your income board and grab all the overtime you can!
Are there any phone packages you can use to cut the bill- free evening and weekend calls and only use the phone then?
Hope it goes well. Maybe a stint on the grocery challenge, no spend day challenge etc will help too?2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Thanks Jellie, your advice and kind words always welcome.
Will be looking to Ebay anything not nailed down, plus will be cutting the corners off already trimmed budget
Got a phone call tonight from Calder Financial (at 7.30pm!!) advising me that they were now taking over management of my Barclaycard credit card debt. Only paying £1.00 / month at moment as it's all I can afford.
Will contact CCCS again and consider new SOA....DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Well...the last two days have been a real rollercoaster
Yesterday, RDS and Scottish Power totally screwed up my DD payments and left me with just £5.35 in my bank .
A few frantic and strongly worded phone calls this morning has ensured that some semblance of sanity has returned to my bank account.
On a brighter note...MY OH HAS JUST GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!! :rotfl::T
Regular readers of this diary will know that OH has had quite a difficult time getting a new job since we relocated in 2007.
We are therefore going out for a celebration drink tonight as I think we both deserve it. The good news is dulled sligyhtly with the fact that its a 3 month contract initially with a view to being permanent but anything that gives us breathing space is welcome...DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

The fun continues....
Went out last night to celebrate with OH getting a new job.Got taxi home and had a quick cuppa before bed. OH cant find mobile phone...in handbag?...where's handbag? ..erm, left it in hackney cab (taxi):eek:
Got on phone quick, cancelled all cards, got mobile blocked and went to bed feeling slighly deflated.
However, got note through door from neghbour saying "Call in when back home..."
Went next door...handbag!!!...:T...kind taxi driver found it in cab this morning and brought it round!!!....
On the financial side, OH strarting work means we'll have enough to actually live and slowly start paying off debts as well !!
Thank You to Jellie, Missymoo at al for ongoing support.
