Co-operative Bank going to let me have basic bank account and my current a/c will be frozen. Looking to start dmp on 1st May 2010.

Now need to write to CCCS and let then know all info re. creditors, etc.

  • Well, had an afternoon off today.

Used time productively to draw up letters to CCCS and the creditors stating:

    • DMP payment to be 1st May 2010
    • Creditors to be paid end of May
    • Likely to be able to settle one of small creditors (£112.00) before DMP :T
Going to post letters Thursday. Just hope they (the creditors) don't "spit out their dummies" and decide "not to play ball..."

  • Well, lets get the party started...lol

Letter & DMP sent to CCCS, plus have sent letters to my creditors to confirm CCCS involvement and my plan to start a DMP via CCCS on Friday 26th February.

Wondering now what sort of response I'll get from them...:)

Received leters from Nationwide and M & S Money stating I had not stuck to current voluntary agreement - not true - obviously they've got my letters re. impending DMP via CCCS and are feeling a bit miffed that they won't be able to "put the frighteners on me" or "call the shots" any more :p... dunno why they would object to a dmp as they'll get more money than the £1.00 a month at present :p

Phoned M & S Money and the lady took my call and said "..erm, it looks as if you have actually paid us" in a slighly sheepish manner. I told her of impending CCCS involvement and she was ok about that.

Nationwide Collections Dept not open on Saturday so they can wait until Monday...

I am a bit chuffed with myself today as I paid off one of my creditors - Okay, it was only £108.00 for an old Eon gas bill but it's paid and gone forever! :T

...now the hard work begins with the DMP due to kick off 10th May. I know its going to take a while to clear circa £18,000 but at least I've started the journey. :D

The DMP is in the process of being set up but one creditor, Barclaycard, are looking to spoil the party. Not content with passing the debt to Mercers and then Calder Financial, they have now passed it on to a company called DML.

DML think it's perfectly acceptable to call me at work and at home - was off yesterday but not in the house so only got message off a work colleague. She stated they were really heavy and off-hand with her but thankfully she did not find out why they were calling.

I called them this morning and they requested full settlement of o/s amount, about £2,300.00 - this is despite having had NOTHING in writing from either them or Barclaycard that "DML" are taking over the debt.

They must think I'm stupid if they think I'm going to pay money to a company that I've never of over the phone using my debit card...No Chance!

They then requested an immediate token payment of £60.00..I refused...£30.00..I refused again.

They then came out with the usual bullyboy tactics of "blah blah blah bailliffs, court action, attachment of earnings, etc" but I basic told them to speak to CCCS or go away!

I then phoned CCCS to warm them that this company may contact them. they stated that once Barclaycard find out CCCS are setting up a DMP, they tend to take the debt back "in house".

    Watch this space...:D
