This post is a bit of an update as I've been busy dealing with other matters....

    Friday 12th March
Had major problem with Co-op Bank as they froze my current a/c and closed my savings a/c without telling me!

It appears CCCS wrote to them re. my DMP and because of this, they decided to only let me use my Cashminder a/c - basic bank a/c no overdraft facility - from now on rather than from the planned start date of 15th April, which is when I wanted to do the account "transition" so to speak. After many frantic phone calls, managed to get access so remaining funds and sorted things out so that salary went in new a/c.

    Saturday 13th March
Received snotty letter from Debt Managers, on behalf of Barclays, requesting full payment...usual scary words and loads of red ink. It's funny how you see through the "scare 'em" tactics of DCAs. Will inform CCCS to ensure they contact Debt Managers to let them know CCCS is managing payments.

    Monday 15th March
Received letter from Cabot Finance, confirming acceptance of CCCS offer from end of March . DMP due to start in May so quick phone call sorted things out, Calder were surprising ok about DMP starting in May. :)

    Tuesday 16th May
Posted formal complaint to Cooperative Bank re. account closure and general poor customer service.
Received letter from Northern Rock accepting CCCS offer but they want immediate payment. This is not possible until May so need to phone them tomorrow.

Thanks Jellie, your ongoing support is most welcome. You still going to be debt free in April or have you achieved it already?

Phoned Northern Rock, they accepted that DMP wont start until May and that they don't require immediate payment.

Received another phone call from Debt Managers. Advised them that CCCS now dealing with debt repayments and DMP will start in May. DML stated they have received no such notification rom Barclaycard .

Took address and details of DML and forwarded these to CCCS....death by initials? :rotfl:. Hopefully, DML will see sense and accept CCCS DMP offer.

Bit of a £$%^&*@! day today as car insurance company told me that they have cancelled my policy because I forgot to tell them about a) minor accident 2 years ago, minimal damage to other car, my fault :( b) accident in July last year, NOT my fault as I wasn't even driving my car i.e. I was passenger (recovering from broken ankle at time !) when I applied in Feb.

Policy cancelled so they kindly advised me of re-quoted policy £658.99...double existing! Need car for job so had to start new policy TODAY...£58.73 deposit...that's this month's budget shot to hell :(

Oh dear! It's horrible when life throws things like that at us.
I'm sure you'll make it through this month- hopefully the improvement in weather means you can have fun times out without spending too much. Keep calm and carry on!!
