oh hun what happened?? places are taking on for christmas now, I'm sure your OH will find something...... honestly chris, don't stress, something will turn up.

Big hugs... I'm here to chat if you need me

  • Thank you Missymoo.

OH has an idea of selling jewellery on a market stall / car boot sales but what she fails to see is that we need hard cash NOW not £50.00 / month in 6 months time!

Every time I try to make her see that I'm being realistic, she states I'm giving her a hard time.....cue row / argument. Now is the time for tough but sensible decisions which will stabilise the situation not "pie in the sky ideas"

I know what you mean hun, and money seems to be the start of all rows. It's so easy to get cross too as its so frustrating. Have you tried sitting down and talking quietly, I am the worlds worst for talking loudly and shouting when frustrated., I know its easier said than done, but when you make a concerted effort it works better than you think to talk quietly and try and come up with a solution. Atleast your OH is talking about it and trying to help, rather than burying her head in the sand... even if they're not the most constructive ideas at present.... I would imagine she's feeling awful too hun.

Have you got anything you can ebay for now, or any jewellery you dont want that you can send off to one of those gold thingies, mobile phones to send off?? erm..... trying to think of things

    try and keep positive hun.
  • Sorry to hear your bad news Chris.
Would it be worth you posting a new SOA so that people can better advise you what the best course is to take for the next few months while your partner is jobhunting?

hope you're ok hun, please update soon, will worry otherwise x
  • Not much to report but small steps, or "little victories" as I like to think of them.

Have managed to reduce house insurance by £10.00 / month to £15.00 /month. Also, have been in negotiation with Nationwide, who may be willing to freeze interest and accept £10.00/month towards £2800.00 o/draft.

Also, paid £21.00 off £171.00 debt to Eon, who may also accept £5.00 / month.

Put together, i's things like this that allow you to keep focused and gain a boost to morale.

    Bye for now.:hello:

    Hi Chrisblue, found you again!

Sorry to hear about OH's job, big hugs to you both.

Little victories help, and well done on yours. Keep hanging on in there. P
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Hi penelopedee, nice to hear from you again, hope youre ok and thank you for your support.

Nationwide have been ok and will accept £10.00/month towards overdraft, plus will freeze interest...just got to find money!:D.

Well, at least things are maybe stabilising but OH getting a job would be best Christmas present ever:rudolf:.

No mores chances of overtime at work so will try to get 2nd job say for a few hours at weekend or even evening if desperate .

Well, its a month since my last post. Have survived Christmas financially speaking and had an enjoyable time. Now its back to work tomorrow and back to soring out the finances.

My debt repayments have been made and have Sanding Orders set up for them. My Plan (hate Resolutions :D) is to ensure that I carefully monitor ALL those little bits of spending so that there are no nasty surprises a week or so before pay day.

Will also try to update this on a weekly basis.

Hello to Missymo and Jellie if you're reading the forums - please check out their diaries as they are good motivation.
