Hellooooo
Happy New Year :T
Just thought it was about time for me to start the next chapter of my life and a new diary adventure, as this is going to be MY year, I've decided
. I get married in march :j me and OH have decided to try for a baby as off now, and I start my OU degree in March too!!!!
I still have £4000 to pay off my loan, and £8000 to pay for my car
although I was doing really well last year at paying my loan off, but christmas etc got in the way
, so a fresh start is definitely needed!
But I have decided I WILL have it all paid off by the end of the year!! The fact that that is an awful lot of money, and what with trying for a baby and all I need more than ever to get my butt into gear!!
I've made a million and one new years resolutions. But basically they all boil down to a few key things, which all interlink and overall will make my life more fulfilled, happier and healthier.
Resolutions
To not be so lazy - which means I can keep on top of the housework and meal planning and more cooking from scratch will get done., this is a major one for me as I am the laziest person in the world!!!
To be fitter and healthier and look after myself better - which I intend to do by running (having cancelled my gym membership:T), and cooking from scratch, and from March, digging and planting my veggie patch which will keep me busy too (I can't wait for this
and it will save me heaps of money) cut down on my alcohol consumption should help too!!
To pay off my debts as quickly as possible - so no clothes buying, no sweets buying (helps with the fitter and healthier resolution
) to drive economically, rather than being a speed demon on the way home from work
. To actually list things on ebay (have been meaning to do this for years) Possibly getting a part time job (have found a pub around the corner that I love, but have no idea if they have vacancies, should ask really, shouldn't I?!!
Think I might actually set myself little challenges as I go to make myself do things, like ring the pub for instance... hmmm will work on this idea.
So they you go, my new year in a nutshell.

Right my first challenge if I choose to except it  (sorry got carried away with the moment there
) is to try and only spent £20 on shopping between now and the end of the month, I'm trying to do this as for the last two months without my knowing the grocery account has been in its overdraft, to the sum of £300 , which OH has bailed us out of but I feel awful, although some of that has got to do with OH going shoppiong and not being able to stop himself putting what seemed like half of tecos in the trolley:rolleyes:!!! Hence why from now on I'm doing the shopping;)!! So I know it might sound unrealistic, but the fridge freezer and the cupboards are fit to bursting, so will do a cupboard/FF inventory and will be back later with meal plans...... hmmmmm thinking caps on.....

Right from what we have in the cupboards and in the freezer, I think I can just about manage the £20 challenge I have set myself. I have a lot of mince and chicken in the freezer and a lot of fish too. I've also got a few pre made things like bolognaises, lasagnes, burgers, shepherds pies oh and tons of chillie
Fortunately OH's fave foods are lasagne shepherds pie and curry so I can force feed him these a few times in the month.
am going to try and do about 26 dinners ish, it's going to be tight... so wish me luck and I'll see if I can come up with a definitive list!!
Is it too early to go to bed am knackered?!
Have been super organised with my evening though, have filled up my washers on the car, put my washing away, made soup (yum yum!) washed up and made my sarnies for tomorrow, considering I usually come home and just sit and watch tv, I've not done too badly... so a step in the right direction I think... didn't get as much done as I wanted, but baby steps!

Goodness, how sad am I, replying to my own thread three times!!! Sorry, will be quiet!!!0

Alright buddy, how's it going? thought I better interswoop the thread so you know you are not alone.
Mightily impressed with your meal plans, I might take a leaf from yours!
...although am not good with freezing. I asked DH yesterday if I could freeze two potatoes (cut into wedges) that were on their last legs. He said no. I asked why and he said how many potatoes do you usually see in the freezer section? oops!0 -
Not sad at all - it all sounds great. Am like you and determined to get organised in New Year and cut back on spending. You sounds like you have a very exciting 2010 what with a wedding and a possible baby on the way!
DS back to school tommorow - dd still at home as on bed rest so thinking of ways to keep her amused will be testing to say the least.
Anyway good luck with your quest!
I XTarget for MAD - 24:)0 -
hey Katyj and holliegarson, thank you so much for your kind words and support, was starting to think i was going insane rambling away to myself:rotfl:
It is going to be a mammoth year!! Quite scary really!!
OOh I don't envy you Hollie, keeping children amused is not my forte, I have 2 nephews and keeping them amused feels like the hardest most exhausting job in the world!!
Hmmm... really need to take my makeup off and do the old cleanse tone and moisturize routine whih is part of one of my new years resolutions... can't be falling at the first hurdle now can I!!
Missy0 -
ok have cleansed and moisturised like a good girl, although couldn't be bothered to tone as couldn't find any cotton wool. although I know I have millions due to my toiletry buying addiction!:o
Right list of things I need to do tomorrow:
Get petrol and drive economically
Take packed lunch to work
Send back amazon parcel (hopefully be refunded £30)
Chase up expenses
Wipe over bathroom
Put OH's washing on
Do some exercise and eat healthily
Dig out cheque that needs paying in at weekend
Paint toenails and dye hair (part of the looking after myself and feeling better resolution)
hmmm sure there's more but I can't think anything else right now, really think it's late enough to be bed time
Speak soon
Missy0 -
Can't sleep because I'm too busy thinking about menu plans.... really don't want to type them all out right now, will do it tomorrow, really do need to go to sleeps.
Nights0 -
Oh my goodness, why is it that when you don't have to get up until 6am, you wake up at 0515!!!! Not good, although I decided to get up and make myself a cuppa where as usually I would have ended up falling asleep and feeling rubbish. so am sitting in bed drinking tea and watching jamie oliver
can you tell OH is away!
Well best go and do something productive I suppose.
Speak soon

OMG I can't believe how much it is snowing, I'm really hoping to be sent home, then I can get on with my moneysaving/making plans!!!
