Do not buy an Acer....

I have some acers here and haven't had any problems with them. The customer services people do my head in though.
At work, it took me a whole day to get the RMA number for five acer desktops, 1 acer laptop and 1 monitor.
Yes, even shops have to go through that exact same process as the customer (when people assume we can magically get items fixed in the space of a day or two). Which means speaking to somebody who claims to be called Dave, reciting a 20+ character serial number and having it read back very slowly, with A being replaced by Acer.
Them: Hello, you're speaking to sebastian. how can I help you today?
me: I have a faulty monitor and a faulty desktop computer to get RMA numbers for.
them: Ok, I am delighted to help you today. let's start with a monitor. are you concerning that the monitor is suffering from a hardware fault?
me: I've plugged it into three other PCs which work fine and it doesn't pick up a signal. I have used different cables, all of which work with other monitors. Clearly the monitor is faulty. It is nothing to do with the software on the computers, their graphics cards or anything of the sort. All i get is a "no signal detected" message on the screen.
them: have you tried plugging it in?
me: no, I just magically get messages on the screen >.>.
them: I am so happy to do this for you. Allow me to check my data. *puts me on hold for 10 minutes.* I am pleased to help you with this RMA number. Can I do anything else for you today?
me: I still have that faulty desktop.
them: you will have to call back. I cannot help you with that.
And so the cycle begins again. The funniest thing is, they have a call centre who DO speak english, but they don't actually deal with anything.0 -
Acer is ok for me, except the sound is really low.0
