Why does that number surprise you? How many machines do you think the company must sell worldwide?0 -
That is in the UK, not worldwide - sand 6,000 returns a month means a brand is good? What do you think is poor then?
I could not even have the sound on as if I closed the laptop it would send out a constant squeal. Something to with the microphone which we did not need, never had no intention of using but could not get rid of without taking it apart.0 -
acer lol says it all really0

The only time I need to contact Acer,I got through to a UK call centre. And the service was fabulous.0

If you think Acer is bad, Dell laptops are even worse. The major faults on Dells include broken hinges (very common) and blown power supplies.Oh, and the battery packs are fitted with a chip that automatically lowers the max charge level so that after 150 charges you should be buying a new pack even though the cells in the original are still good for another 900 chrages.Never Knowingly Understood.

i am so glad i can afford a Apple .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
After owning one (Travelmate 8210 - pretty much to of the line when I bought it) I would never buy one again.
It had at least 5 warranty repairs(I lost count) in 12 months including 4 motherboard replacements.
Once it was sent back in non working condition.
I could go on, but take my advice, buy something else.0 -
I'm using an Acer right now and I would'nt part with it.
If it broke I'd definately buy another one.0 -
2 Acers in our house and both are heavily used by my student daughters and we've had no problems with either of them. I'd certainly buy another one in the future.August £10 a day challenge- £27/£3100

Hubby has got an Acer Aspire 9300. It's a couple of years old and we haven't had any problems with it, other than what normally comes with Windows Vista, lol!
We had to restore it back to factory settings a few months back as something went wrong with Media player and it wouldn't play any file at all.
Hubby though, hates the Acer and has now ordered a Samsung "open boxed" from Ebuyer, it's due to arrive on Tuesday. The kids are going to have the Acer.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 which is just over 12 months old. I love it! The only thing I don't like about the Acer is the fan is on the right, the same side as the mouse, so my hand feels hot all the time, as oppose to my Dell which is on the left.
Work have got 2 Acer Travelmates and I know the one laptop has had to go back twice for repair, I think once was for a new motherboard. It was still under warranty, so wasn't a problem.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020
