All too true Violetta! Lets just wait and see, could all be talk, but did seem to have quite a good person from SP on the end of the phone, who did seem to make sense! She does seem to think they have a couple of new ones coming out and she said she doesnt know much, but that they should be very competative?????0

I'd be very surprised if SP suddenly produce a new competitive tariff now - 1000's of their customers will be actively switching at the moment - it would have saved them much grief if ,as Violetta says, they had produced a decent tariff for us pre 31st August!!0

I have just finished on a fixed price deal with Scottish Power and been put onto their capped tariff. Have checked on price comp sites and both money supermarlet and simply switch think that SP''s Online Energy Saver 6 would be my best saving. Frustratingly, each site has a different total cost figure and I can't sign up through simply switch. This tariff does not appear anywhere if I log onto my account with SP and choose change my service. Money supermarket appears to let me me apply to change but can I really switch from one tariff to another with the same supplier using this (and cheekily will I still get cashback?). If anyone else has tried this I'd welcome your feedback
Thanks
PS. a quick tip as it's so hard to see exactly what you are paying per Kwh and your total useage for a period on the Scottish Power site I e-mailed to request this information and they replied in full.0 -

Maybe its because they have lost so many people and noticed all the bad feeling that they have created. Maybe they have realised that they are losing lots of customers and are trying to mitigate the losses.
I use 73% overnight on E7. According to energyhelplne.com, my SP bill will go up from £827 (capped until Aug 09) to £864 on the new Sep 10 cap tariff. The only saving I can make would be to switch to BG, but having had BGs appalling customer service finally sorted out last year, I wouldn't ever contemplate using them again. The time that I spent trying to sort things out with BG wouldn't be worth even £100. Amongst the problems I had with BG was that they advised me by email to change to another tariff of theirs then doubled the E7 rate on that same tariff withing 4 days of the email. Very sharp practice. Once bitten etc.etc.0 -
I've had the letter off eon as well - theyve advised they will put me on price protection r3 -
elec - primary - 25.64p/kWh, 10.854p/kWh (quarterly threshold 225kWh)
gas - primary - 6.903p/kWh, 3.605p/kWh (threshold 670kWhkWh)
8% dual discount
Somebody on the thread mentioned they will be put on energysaver r1, which will be 5.8% more than standard prices - ppr3, which they have said I will go on, is also 5.8%, so it looks like those two plans are the same price. Confusing.
I am concerned that I have a debit of a few hundred quid on my account (when I became dual fuel rather than single they forgot to charge me for the new account for a few months, I actually had to phone them and tell them myself) - how will this effect my moving to a different supplier? I would not be able to clear any arrears.

Hi guys
I am with EON and they have also sent me a letter about moving to another capped one (don't have letter to hand).
I want to check who is the best for me but don't have the details of energy over the whole year. I have the meter readings (365 days today funny enough). How do I calculate the amount of energy (gas & electricity) which we have used.
Electric
10/9/08 - 67597
9/9/09 - 72085
KWH 4488
Gas
10/9/08 - 6128
9/9/09 - 6467
KWH = 10703
Thanks
WJUK
Edit updated with KWH figures (calculated via EON site).0 -
I have emailed them asking the full name of my tariff (cant find it anywhere) and my usage for the year.
They are quite good with replying to queries.
Would still be grateful if anyone has an answer to:

After refusing the continuation fixed rate 2010 deal, I got an email inviting me to switch to Online energy saver 6. This is my preferred tariff so I clicked on the link and applies. I got an acknowledgment email so I though all was OK.
I have just had my latest bill and from 1st September they have not switched me to online energy saver 6. I sent them an email complaint and they say they will correct this and re-issue the bill.
It pays to check the bill to make sure you are paying the correct price per kWh of gas and electricity. Tedious but necessary.0 -
... and strangely enough back up to £60 on Topcashback, as well as having been introduced on Quidco at £60
Booger it, did my switch on Mon 31st from Scot Power capped and couldn't find cashback for EDF in Quidco, raging that it is there now!!!! Will only get £30 through moneysupermarket, but suppose it is better than a poke in the eye.
P.S. I also opted out of the new capped thing via the email and was then put onto it - one email to customer services later and they said that I hadn't been transferred (clearly I am blind and stupid) and funnily enough I have just checked online and it is now the standard rate.0 -
Ooh, just seen someone elses's post about starting the switch from SP fixed rate on 1st Sept onwards- I thought it finished on 31st Aug and therefore me starting a switch on that day would be ok? Will I now get whacked with £50 exit fee?0
