What is our cheapest option travelling from Grantham to London - would also like to include Zone travel if it works ou cheaper
We would need to arrive in London around 11.00am as appointment is at midday so need to allow some time to get across from station to hospital.......
We need 2 adult tickets and naturally 1 child
We also have a Friends & Family railcard
Thanks in advance
If you can get into London at 11:09 then get the 10:01 arr 11:09 direct for £67.05 Off Peak Travelcard.
If you need to be in earlier then; Grantham to Peterborough dep 08:34 arr 09:01 Anytime Day Return £26.70
Peterborough to London dep 09:26 arr 10:44 One Day Off Peak Travelcard First Capital Connect Only £48.30
Total £75 price 2x adult 1x child with F&F Railcard
I'll leave you to find you own trains back but the second option must be Off Peak and a First Capital Connect train to Peterborough.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Could be useful even if one of you goes in at Kings Cross and snares some free coffees / biscuits and comes out.
Northern Line (Southbound) to London Bridge.
You also get to see The Shard!

Hi everyone,
Would welcome help. Need to get from Watford Junction to Glasgow after 3pm on Monday 10th September, 3 adults and 1 child. (this is a return portion). The outward portion I managed to get (and buy) for £61 but the cheapest I can get this portion for is £155. Does anyone have any tips on how to get this cost down. Also, it's been a very long time since I've travelled to Watford Junction (the down-bit, am going straight into London, but will be in Levesden on the Monday, so coming home from there) but I was sure the Glasgow train stopped at Watford, but doesn't look like I can find any. Have the routes changed or am I looking in the wrong place.
Thanks for help0 -

Bristol to Cheltenham £15 return (£7.50 advance single each way
Cheltenham to Birmingham: £21 return (£10.50 advance single each way)
Those advances are available on many though not all trains
Birmingham to Lincoln £36.10 off peak return
Total £72.10 - not much of a saving but an easy one.
Splitting additionally at Nottingham might produce a further small saving.0 -

Shave another £1.40 off and use Advance Singles between Bristol TM and Cheltenham as Dzug suggested.0 -

What fares have you found?
How many adults and children travelling?
You can buy those tickets from the station on the day or beforehand... your choice.
If you want to buy online, go through the booking process with you chosen seller and choose to collect them from the machine at the station. That's really you only choice at this short notice.
I would buy at the station just before travel, just incase something makes you change your plans.0 -
There's also a ticket called a Daysave - £17 per adult, £2 per child. Can only be bought at Tourist Offices (in the Town Hall in St Albans) - which might be better if you are taking kids
