Off Peak return from London Waterloo->Romsey (discounted) is £29.90. Chuck the outward portion away on arrival at Salisbury on Thursday.
Single from Salisbury->Romsey (discounted) is £4.30. Pair this up with your return portion (which I believe I am correct in saying is valid via Southampton/Southampton Airport) and you are home and dry with a break of journey at Winchester (the gates can get tetchy in these scenarios but the staff should let you in/out via the manual gate).0 -

If I get singles with my Gold Card, then at the moment I'm looking at 22.90 + 14.40 + 19.35 = 56.65
Any ideas how I can do it cheaper?
Thanks!

Total = £31.55.

The outward portion of the Southampton ticket can be used via Salisbury on the Thursday?0

Yes, according to Southern Railway's journey planner.0

There is an Off Peak return to Salisbury (via Southampton) at £29.50 with the discount. Is there any way to excess the outward leg to Any Permitted (should be £0.00). Although arguably this may not be needed?
Edit: Or get the plain Salisbury ticket then just excess the return portion via Southampton?0 -

Just wanted to check about prices for an adult and child with a F and F railcard from Glasgow to London in October. It's a journey which I've down twice before, but prices seem to have increased a lot.
I'm sure that last year I paid £75 for the tickets, but the cheapest I can see are £103 return - am looking at travelling in 12 weeks time. The dates are going on Sunday 14th and back on Wednesday 17th. Can any helpful person let me know if this is really the best?0 -

£103.35 is the price of an Off Peak Return which you can buy on the day.
Currently, in mis September Advance Singles are available at £34-ish.
