    Hi,
I'm looking for the cheapest possible return or split ticket from Norwich - Preston on the 25th August(sat) returning 27th August (mon) could anybody beat the cheapest price I've found so far of £90 return?

Really would be grateful if somebody could help

    Many Thanks

    Rich :)

I assume some sort of split has gone into that price - on a quick look I can't actually see anything as low

Not to say there isn't anything though
  • Hi,

We ( 2 adults) are looking to go from Glasgow to London on the 21st August and returning on the 24th August.

Looks like the cheapest way I can find is by train at £110 each for a return, flights are cheaper (£90) but it would then cost about £30 to get a bus from the airport to central London.

Do you think £110 is the best we can get at such short notice? I know buses can be alot cheap but I dont think we can do 10 hours on one :D

  • You could always get the overnight bus so at least you can sleep. Ive not looked too indepth here but because you are returning on a friday then thats about right unless you want to split somewhere along the way.
All depends how long you want the return journey to be really.

  • is there a ticket splitting trick for skegness to mansfield (notts) as i cant seem to get tickets any cheaper than £29.50 for return. ive noticed its cheaper to get tickets to skeg to derby at £27.50 but it cost me more to get bus/train tickets from nottingham to mansfield, so if there are any splitting tricks anyone know of if be grateful

I don't think there is any saving to be made on your trip unless you have a railcard.
  • We are staying in High Wycombe next week and we plan to go into London on Sunday 26 August. The cheapest we have found for 2 adults and 2 children are £50 or £58 which involves the off peak travel card. No idea if this a good price or not and can we get it any cheaper? Any advice?

Groupsave will reduce that price to £39.00 inc Travelcard.

Groupsave allows four people to travel for the price of two.
For the purposes of this, your children do not get the child discount, but clearly there is still a saving.

I need a return from Plymouth to Paddington on Mon 27th Aug. Looking at catching 06.55 there and 18.03 back as there were among cheapest and suit the times I need. But my query is the fares are changing every day - I didn't realise they did this. Had I booked the other day when I first looked it would have been £56 then went up to £80 on Fri, £70 yesterday and £75 today!!

Is this normal? Would I be wise to book now at £70 rather than risk it going up again or is it likely to come down again over the next week?

    Thanks for any advice

Supply and demand, as lower priced Advance ticket tiers sell they get replaced by more expensive tiers, surprised that the price came back down thou, that don't normally happen, unless somebody was going to buy a lot had them in their account shopping basket and changed their minds, therefore the tickets got put back up for resale.
