What about national express they would take you right to the airport from Glasgow.
Thanks for the reply! yep, could go Megabus for about £20 return but decided to plump for the train as it's less hassle (about 2 hours less travel time each way and right to the airport with no changes!) with the bags and everything. I just wanted to check about Megatrain in case I was missing a trick0 -

Might be of help, but with this journey try splitting your journey at Manchester Piccidilly. If you look into it and with careful planning, you could book a cheaper direct Transpennine Express service from Glasgow Central to Manchester Pic and then stay on the train as these trains all go to Manchester Airport and then do the same in reverse.Whoa! Megabus and megatrain are the same website - if there's a choice it will allow you to specify bus or train or both.
IIRC megatrain only go to Piccadilly and infrequently at that - you'd need a separate normal ticket on to the airport.0 -

They dont go to piccadilly from Glasgow though - No virgin trains do - so there wont be any megatrain fares available."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

An Off Peak Return via Chesterfield is £95.00 might be the most suitable. There are a couple of trains that get to London before 11am using that ticket.
A Super Off Peak Return via Chesterfield is £63.50 might be your best bet, but the first train that you can use that ticket on leaves Sheffield at 09:27 and arrives St Pancras at 11:24.0 -

I thought there was one a day - but a quick check shows there isn't. My mistake:o0 -
Hi, I need to go with work from Scarborough to Tiverton in Devon and that's a loooong trip. I work for a charity so am really conscious of costs as will have to stay over in Tiverton. My dates are Fri 8th April (can go any time) come back Saturday 9th around half 3. Its so expensive though, £142 for a return - I've tried asking for split at York but its not that much cheaper. Has anyone any ideas of how to get this cheaper? Really appreciate any help xCogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0

Again your leaving it really late to be getting some good deals.. Try using http://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/ for your journey. I got this
0700 - £85
return 1637 - £48
its not much cheaper but its a saving of around 12 quid.. Or try the east cost website and try via london..
I have not looked at any possible splits here though.one of the famous 50 -

There are Advance Singles from Scarborough to York on your dates for £6.50 each way.
There are Advance Singles from York to Birmingham NS on your dates for £21 each way.
There are Advance Singles from Birmingham NS to Tiverton Parkway on your dates for £31 out and £30 back, but it does mean a late arrival in Tiverton.
So can be done for £116.
There may be other, better, splits.0
