EDIT - and Bishop stortford doesnt have a station does it?

It does. It's on the Liverpool Street to Cambridge or Stansted Airport line. If you're having trouble finding it, maybe you're missing off the ''s'.

  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your help! There are now less of us going by train, 5 adults and 2 children. No railcards as yet but I have just seen the post about the railcard offer so need to look into that now.

Buy a friends and family railcard using above link for £19.50 and 4 adults and 4 kids can travel on it (5th adult fare will be normal price)

Using www.eastcoast.co.uk i have found the following advance singles

    Bishops Stortford-Prestatyn
    Out Fri 15 Apr
    Rtn Mon 18 Apr
    5 Adults, 2 Children

    Outward
    Dep Bishops 0654
    Arr Tottenham Hale 0721
    TUBE TO EUSTON
    Dep Euston 0810
    Arr Prestatyn 1041
£158.70 (£26.05 per adult, £7.50 per child, £39.50 for 5th adult, £28.74 ave adult price)

    RETURN
    Dep Prestatyn 1447
    Arr Chester 1517
    Dep Chester 1535
    Arr London Euston 1739
    TUBE TO TOTTENHAM HALE
    Dep Tottenham Hale 1825
    Arr Bishops 1901
£84.40 (£13.85 per adult, £4 per child, £21 for 5th adult, £15.28 ave adult price)

    Total price for party £243.10
Including the £19.50 for railcard with 25% off using above link £262.60

Total price is £44.02 ave adult, £11.50 child (plus £19.50 for the railcard)

ave adult price = 4 adult fares with railcard + 1 normal fare adult price divided by 5 so all adults pay the same.
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Just about to book it :-D
    All you guys are amazing!

No probs you've done well as i've just checked the journey again and there aren't 7 advance singles available going out anymore.
I was going to suggest buying 2 friends and family railcards so everyone gets the cheaper fares and total cost was 95p cheaper but you would have had 2 railcards to share but this doesn't matter now.
    Enjoy your trip.

We are coming over from Aus and want to book some rail tickets which go from Ipswich to London, then london to Windsor, then Windsor to Ipswich, is this a difficult route or very expensive?

Ipswich London - easy to book on line for a cheaper fare

London - Windsor - buy on the day - you save nothing booking online and lose flexibility

Windsor - Ipswich - easy to book online for a cheaper fare

Is this a day trip or over several days?
  • I am traveling on the 25th of April from Glasgow to Nottingham and returning on the 28th of April

I can travel anytime after 7pm on the 25th but need to leave after 12pm on the 28th. It doesn't matter what time i arrive.

The cheapest fair i have found so far is £101.30 any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance :)
