    LOL:rotfl:
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc
  • Hello,
I'm new to this forum, so I'm sorry if this route has been explained before. I got job in Birmingham and I live in Coventry. The best way to travel on workdays for me would be using virgin trains, it takes about 20min to get to Birmingham New Street station, and this one is very close to office I work in. I'm thinking about getting one of the season tickets, however I can't find any, and not only for virgin trains, but for journey "Coventry-Birmingham" in general. Am I missing something?
So I have two questions. Where can i buy season ticket for Virgin trains for this journey (price?)? Is this a cheapest way to travel from Coventry to Birmingham?
Your help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Doesn't look like it, can't get this to quote me for that route:
    http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/seasonticket/calculator

I never knew seasons were not available for all journeys.

Although I can get a quote from Rugby (you are allowed to make intermediate journeys on seasons so this ticket could be used from Coventry). Looks to work out cheaper than dailies.

    Virgin Trains Only
    5 x anytime day return = £23.50
    7 Days £22.10
    1 Month £84.90
    12 Months £884.00

    All operators, including London Midland
    10 x anytime day single (can't find a return for this) = £40.00
    7 Days £31.20
    1 Month £119.90
    12 Months £1,248.00

Dep Wolverhampton 19:37, arr Carlisle 22:01. Advance Single = £22.00.

Remember, with Advance Singles you must travel on booked train.

    Info from SouthernRailway website.

Thank you very much. I checked website and they have some great prices. I just wonder if this one
    tickets.networkwestmidlands.co.uk/CT_TicketDetail.aspx?TicketID=118&TicketOptionID=118&resultsPage=0

is valid on Virgin trains, because next to operators here
    networkwestmidlands.com/MultimodalOperators/multimodal_operators.aspx

Virgin**(valid to Network West Midlands boundary, however Zone 5 ticket is valid to Rugeley)
So I should be able to travel Coventry-Birmingham with this one?

Sorry for CODE tag, forum hasn't allowed me to use URL tag, because I'm new.

Thanks ideally I'd like to leave before that time but that's a far better price

An Advance Single at £33.00 is available on the following train...
Dep Wolverhampton 18:37, arr Carlisle 22:00.

Similar tickets on departures at 14:37, 15:37, 16:37 and 17:37 are available for £55.00.

A pound or two may be saved by splitting at Preston.
