I just thought I'd take a moment to warn everyone about Envirofone!
After recently getting a free upgrade I decided to send my old phone off to Envirofone who had agreed to buy my phone for £35. I sent the phone to Envirofone via Royal Mail special delivery knowing full well that it was in perfect working condition! However, I today received an email telling me my phone had been tested and rejected as it has water damage. The phone had never been in contact with water and certainly wasn't damaged! After calling Customer Services and protesting this fact to them I was told that they place a 'testing strip' on the phone to detect moisture and if it shows up anything then it is rejected. I pressed the chap further who said this could be steam from a kitchen or bathroom etc. So even though the phone works perfectly because it has been in the presence of moisture they offered me £12. A blatant scam! As I told the Customer Service rep, if the 'testing strip' was placed on any object in anybody's house it would register moisture of some level! I have writen a letter of complaint to them!
DO NOT USE ENVIROFONE! Even if your phone works perfectly, their 'moisture detecting strip' with render your phone worthless!!0 -
well ive used envirophone quite a few times and had no problems at all with them.'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

iv'e also had problems with environfone in the past. Sent two phones into them in the same bag got paid for one not the other had to spend ages sending in the ime number and everything else i had to prove i'd sent two phones . Eventually got paid though never use them again always use the Fonebanker brilliant service0

This is what puts me off about these companies now. Though to be honest i did use a diff one previously, just the once and had no problem and was all set to use the same company again and get £32 for phone due to it working and then at the last min thought what the hell, i'll stick it on gumtree.
I sold it the same day for £30, so a £2 loss, but a saving in the sense that i would of had to pay to send it special delivery anyway.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
I'd posted this in another topic, but I'll paste it here too, as I couldn't agree with the OP more! -
I'm absolutely disgusted with Envirofone! I sent them a pristine 16GB, 3G IPhone, packaged extremely well, and sent via Royal Mail's particularly expensive Insured method. The Post Office even crossed out the word "Freepost" on the envelope, to emphasise the fact that it wasn't sent free of charge, and while Envirofone admit to receiving my phone, they actually Emailed me regarding it twice!
Upon ringing them, they claim to have received both of my phones, but will only offer me 40% of the agreed price because the first one has a cracked back! They then went on to say that they couldn't accept the second phone, because it had been flagged as stolen. I questioned the staff in regard to this, and they say that the Stolen one, while immaculate, can't be accepted but the other one can, although it's damaged! The main problem with this entire situation, is that I'VE ONLY SENT THEM ONE PHONE!?
This is proof if ever I needed it, that Envirofone will cheat you. They are an absolute farce of a company, and quite clearly they're completely incompetent. How they can claim to have two phones from me, and say that they are in entirely different conditions, when in actual fact I've only sent in one phone to them, is beyond me. I'm hoping that these mistakes can be used against them, when I take matters further.0
