Well, they certainly sounded like excuses when you came up with a "reason" for not composting everytime somebody suggested a solution to your reasons.

As I stated above, my post was said in jest. If you choose not to accept my apology for not being clearer about it being in jest, then so be it.

How dare you, you say I'm choosing not to accept your apology & you still say I'm making excuses:rolleyes:

I DID NOT ASK FOR ADVICE ON COMPOSTING!, what part of that is so hard to understand.

It has been thrown down my throat that I must do it. If I don't like vermin/creepy crawlies or don't want to go down the garden on dark nights or save old food under my sink that is my choice!

I don't have to give you or anyone on here reasons you deem valid:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

How rude are you hardcore OSers to say my reasons are "excuses".

I'll second that. I'd rather not eat than do those.

Not anywhere I've seen it..... but I won't eat it anyway because of the way it used to be produced. I know that the animal conditions are supposed to have improved, but I still don't think it's humane. I may not be able to afford to buy organic and/or free range, but I can certainly afford to veto those I personally don't agree with.

Actually meant I had to go vegetarian for a lot of my honeymoon - I didn't discover until after we arrived in Italy that, where a recipe calls for mince, they use veal as a norm
I'm not so sure I have ever had veal to be honest. I keep saying it, but i wasn't fed it as a child . I think my Mum had the same view about it so didn't feed us it? I don't know much about how it is produced, so am going to probably disgust myself by looking now :o

I fancied trying the onion bhajis at some future point from this week's Economy Gastronomy.

But I'd do them by flattening them down and frying them in a frying pan in about 1/4" of oil ... otherwise I would be using oil overload and then having to find a way to re-use it and a 2nd bottle to keep it in until I needed to use oil again. I only do any frying with oil about once a month, when I use about a teaspoon of it.

Veal on the continent is still reared in crates, however, British rose veal isn't and is grass fed in fields.

In fact, it would be better if more people did eat (British) veal as it means that the male calves that are born to the dairy cows at least have a few months of life instead of being culled a few hours after birth.

I'm not overly keen on frying stuff , only where necessary. I made Slimming world onion baghis (sp) once, and they were oven baked. Actually they were pretty blimmin nice too.

    Reading up on veal.:(

Yes it will be interesting don't you think? ...

will be really interesting to see if they ever wash up :D; although times have moved on from my days and they probably have a dishwasher they might still pile it up! I worked with a girl (eng student) a few years back who was sharing a house with 4 boys. They all got on really well but she had decided to look for another place - she was tired of having to remove new life forms from the mug before she could have a cuppa :rotfl:
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
