Gosh, can't believe its less than a year to go for all of us!

I still haven't done hardly anything, mainly due to money not being available, but did meet a friend of a friend who runs a events company and he said he should be able to sort out marquee, photographer, and loos, all for a better price than I could get as he knows the companies.

Wish I had some friends who were getting married or even in relationships, cause I had to give up talking anything about weddings months ago as they all looked disinterested. OH has no interest either, can't mention half the things I would like to him as he thinks its all a waste of money. Family haven't asked one question, and think its too far away to plan anything anyway. The one thing the bridesmaid mentioned in the past 2 months is 'I can't wait to plan the hen night!' Uh, yeah, not really the most important thing!

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing on the day I can hopefully look around and think 'This was ALL down to me!'

Im due my second baby August, so maybe after that people might get a bit more interested, but I bet Ill feel like saying 'You weren't interested when I was excited 6 months ago, so stuff you!'

dee342 welcome!! We are getting married on the same day so maybe we will get a sunny day if we are both hoping for it at the same time!!! fingers crossed!!

Angela enjoy the peace and quiet whilst you can, I am sure your family will get wedding fever soon enough and they are probably trying not to crowd you as you are pregnant and have that to 'deal with' first!!

I struggle to remember what my friends and family actually spoke to me about before we got engaged!! I rarely have a conversation now without them asking how it is going and what else have I done...... one day I will just say something ridiculous to silence them....maybe that I am not buying a dress as it as a naturist wedding!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

10 months on friday for me! i can't believe it. going back to weight watchers on thursday need to shift about a stone and half (or two) before the big day so need to get back into the the swing of things!

haven't managed to do much else since my last update although was at a friends wedding two weeks ago and the musicians she had in the church were fab so i've emailed them for a quote. hopefully they won't be too dear!

also managed to get a few of the addresses i need to send out save the dates i just need to sit down and get my spreadsheet of addresses put together and envelopes bought to send them out!

hope everyone else is keeping well and busy getting stuff organised :rotfl:

I need to finish sending save the dates (2 or 3 still to go out), find a florist (it's no good knowing what I want but nt having anyone to supply them!) and have been researching the honeymoon (Mauritius )

I'm pretty new to this forum and wow I can't believe how many of you are getting married in May, I 'm getting married on 28th May 2011!!!! Yeyy!

I can't wait and I am very excited like most of you I think, the things we have already done are:

Marquee Venue booked
Church booked
Venue decoration booked
Venue DJ booked
Caterers booked
Bespoke Wedding dress deposit down
Wedding website up
Bridal Party chosen

and thats all for now!

Still got loads to do, like flowers, bridesmaid dresses, the cake, accessories, favours, drinks, hire items, transport, gifts, hair and beauty, videography & photography.....oh and honeymoon (Maldives or seychelles) and first night hotel ..etc!

We will be sending save the date cards out in September and invites out beginning of February, I think that is reasonable. Still looking into the design of those, its so hard to pick!

I will be going to the national wedding fair at Earls Court London in Oct, hopefully on the Saturday, which I'm sure most of you will be there.

Good luck ladies with all the planning, I will miss it once its over!

Let me know how your all doing and any bargains if you know of any! I've joined Booker wholesalers, so I can buy cheap wine and spirits and soft drinks....such a good idea! Costco is good too!

Oo, this thread always un-nerves me! We have had to put all the planning on hold due to funds, and have no idea when they will be available again, possibly as late as xmas!

Seeing as Ive been advised 28th May 2011 is one of the most busiest weekends for weddings in the eyar as its the May bank holiday weekend, thats slightly worrying!

SO far we've got the church booked, and the caterers booked. Ive been speaking with a marquee company, so that will be the next big thing, and then Im kinda hoping everything else will just come together!
Good job I'm just planning on a relaxed BBQ garden party!

decided on our wedding topper for the cake and bought it last night (still in the midst of deciding on the cake but thinking of going for an m&s one)

here it is

got it in silver even though most of everything else is purple but i wasn't too fussed on the purple one... will be having purple ribbon round the cake though!

i'm also loving the fact that it was only £12.95 in total and we've sort of have a background theme of butterflies (on the invites and flowergirl dress has butterflies on it) which it adds too

Is there something wrong with May 21st - everyone seems to have gone for the 28th! I'm hoping on mine being the 21st (funds dependant )

Haven't got anything booked or organised yet - you are all so organised compared to me!

Nothing wrong with the 21st first at all... it's just the 28th is bank holiday weekend so people can have an extra long weekend. We are Sunday 29th May- but that was because it is the day we got together so it's lucky it's bank holiday weekend so people are more likely to come
