Oh Sam how exciting, you will get some stunning flowers over there I'm sure!

my 3 Bridesmaids are in a shade of blue.

Most of the big stuff is sorted now, just got all the little fiddly things to arrange.

It's strange how surreal it seems at times!!

I just bought my something old biggrin.gif
It's a 1940's silver coloured and faux pearl brooch and ideally I want to wear it on my dress- which comes with a blingy swarovski brooch but I'm not really a blingy person. If it doesn't work though I might have it on my bouquet...
    Anyhoo, here's a link.

Hey guys! Hope all is going well! Need your advice on when is appropriate to send invitations - obviously we are a long way off and we risk people completely forgetting if we send them in the next few weeks (I certainly don't usually plan this far ahead). However we are getting married in the Trossachs on the bank holiday saturday, lots of people will be needing to travel and stay at hotels/b&b's in the area and I want to give them lots of notice and details so they can book well in advance. When should we send them?
Got a job at Inchmahome Priory, woooooooooo!! :D

probably going to do something similar as it's a bank holiday monday for our wedding and there's a big fishing comp in fermanagh for the weekend of our wedding so we want people to be able to book fairly early if they need to any anyone travelling can have a look at the sales usually on in Jan to book to come over.

Hello! I think I may have said hi before but I'm not sure.
I'm getting married May 28 in Philadelphia, in the US, where I'm from.

I have a planning bio which has many of my ideas. ukpabride.weebley.com

I have booked the DJ, MUA, photog, in addition to the venues.

Invites go out 8-10 weeks before the wedding, Dec is WAY too far out. People will lose the invites, not know what they are doing that day, so they will not respond.

    From You and your wedding-

Who sends the invitations and when?Traditional invites come from the bride’s parents, though sometimes the groom’s name is followed by “son of (his parents’ names)".These days many couples send their own. “Order them four months before the wedding and post them eight to 10 weeks before,” says Wedding Bible author Sarah Haywood. “Include a reply card and a pre-addressed envelope to speed things up.”

Why not put a Save the Date out to all your day guests? I'm April, Good Friday to be exact so have put the STD's out now and will do invites Jan/Feb time with an RSVP by mid March.
Doesn't have to be expensive, I've used Vistaprint

Well, yes usually that would be too far in advance but you start adding in bank holidays and people wanting to book accommodation then it changes the rules a bit. I've already had people badgering me for the info which I will be sending out in the invites and I sent out save the dates. I reckon this is one of those things where you do what's right for your circumstances rather than following a 'rule' :)
