I thought I was pretty organised untill I read your post laura and then realised I have so much more to do..... its so much fun tho....... I eat sleep and dream weddings at the moment!!!
Go a gorgeous wee wooden sign off ebay for £4 that says "wedding" with a little arrow! Gonna hang it on the gate ouside our barn for the reception! Also want balloons but untill I have decided on the bridesmaid dresses am not 100% about colour schemes! Really want an iris type cornflower blue colour but struggling to find dresses in this colour.

Hey ladies,
Im just about to start getting things sorted now, have had the date set all year, found caterers and met with the vicar, but thats it! Have put it all on hold till after my boy was born, and now thats he's here, I can start sorting stuff.
Marquee, dress (after losing another 2 stone!), decorations, invites, rings, alcohol, guest list, suit hire, cake.
Im kind of scared to take that leap into it, that sounds crazy, doesn't it?LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

yeah i'm presuming it's the same, the marriage notice application is handed in to the local registar of marriages so they can carry out the checks to confirm legally we can be married.
might just be called something different as i'm over in northern ireland0 -
I haven't posted on MSE for such a long time, as I changed my job and have no time anymore :-(
We are getting married on Thursday 19th May 2011, exactly a year after we got together. Second time for me so registry office and then lunch locally with 20 guests.
We have a total budget of £1000 not including the honeymoon, so my MSE skills are going to be seriously tested! I have no idea what to wear, but knowing me will probably find a fabulous outfit in a charity shop (that'll be my something old then)
So far I have booked the registry office and made an appointment to give notice in November when I have a week off.
Oh and told my parents I'm getting married :-OMarried 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

just arranged a date to meet a potential caterer at our barn venue so we can discuss food and how its all going to work. Am so excited!!!!! Got loads to ask.. we are having a tipi to eat in outside the barn and the barn itself only has a small wash up type kitchen area rather than a big proper kitchen, we are hoping to get away without an additional catering tent though know we may have to budget for this!!! Plan is to have a BBQ .We intend to use the barn for the some loud music and dancing in the evening and have the tipi as a chill out area and hopefully people will drift between the two!
Just had to share as am so excited!!!
Anyone think:j0 -
fingers crossed that by the end of today we'll have the flights at least booked for our honeymoon.
then all we'll have to do is sit down and figure out the hotels we want to stay in. i'm getting really excited about it now after having a nightmare at the start trying to sort out the details.
i've already got my leave from work approved at least so that's something sorted :j
edit : whoo hoo flights are booked now all we have to do is decide on our hotels for san francisco, los angeles, san diego and vegas!0 -
This thread was on page 6!!!!
So far I have (or should that be WE have lol):
- Booked church
- Booked reception venue
- Bought rings
- Ordered cravats & hankies
- Bought dress
- Bought petticoat
- Bought tiara, veil & shoes
- Chosen bridesmaids dresses (ordering on 6th)
- Sent save the date magnets
- Booked DJ
- Ordered cake
- Reserved the date for the venue dresser
- Booked photographer
- Chosen meal including one veggie, one wheat and dairy free and two muslim (non pork) options!
- Booked honeymoon
- Favour bags bought
- Florist sorted
- Decided on seating plan (I get carried away sometimes!)
So all we need to do now is suits, notice of marriage (catholic church), decide if we want hymns, etc and get our invites. Unless I'm missing something drastic...Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
