Do you wash your washing again if rained on?

I [STRIKE]run[/STRIKE] hobble out and fetch it indoors, and put it on the A-frame over the bath. I've never yet seen the need to re-wash it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

If it's more or less dry, I'll dashh and get it, if it's already wet, it stays out ~ what's the point of fetching wet washing in? It's normally wetter after rain than from the machine, so even if I were not to rewas, I'd need to spin it ~ and as I have no intention of rewashing, due yto the enormity of the washing here anyway......
Ooops, I've started waffling, somebody stop me.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
I only bring it in if it is nearly dry or it looks as if it will continue to rain. I think washing that has been rained on dries quicker!0

I leave mine out until it is dry, could be days especially lately. I've not noticed it being less fresh due to the rain, but then I use vinegar instead of fabric conditioner so there is no freshly washed smell either way.0

well my mum always used to wash it again, so i do too
only a quick wash tho, to refreshen

I have never rewashed something that got wet on the line, what a waste of time and resources. Mind you we are now up to child no 4 so the WM is constantly on without doing any rewashing lol.
I agree with the poster who said about leaving it out in the rain if it is already wet. I would run out and bring it in if it was vitually dry. But this time of year I am in and out with washing, so hang fresh up as I take stuff in so things sometimes get left until the next day. Sort of a constant rotation. To be honest sometimes the TD goes on as well!!!!

Having come across this thread, I've just realised that I am totally mad.
If the washing gets really wet - we re-wash. However, we are thinking of installing a DIY rainwater harvesting system to supply our washing machine.

No I wouldn't wash it again. My husband actually saves rain water in water butts to clean the car with as it leaves it looking much better than tap water certainly not dirtier. If it had got really wet then yes spin it again but only wash it again if say a bird had left a message on it or the line broke and the washing fell on the floor which has happened.Every day is a new life to a wise man.
Sufficient for the day are it's own worries.:cool:0 -
No. Rain is cleaner than our well water! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

I generally leave mine out on the line if it rains, until it dries again. Unless its cold and its raining heavily then I'll bring it in for a spin before I put it on the airers.
This time of year though when its still quite warm it dries fine after a shower. I also put it out to dry overnight in the summer and its dry enough to bring in before I go to work in the morning.
I don't care what the neighbours think - life is too shortThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0
