Do you wash your washing again if rained on?

Options
Something I've never really thought about until we got an outdoor rotary line recently ... I've just put freshly washed bed linen out to dry and we've just had a 5 minute light shower while it was out ... now I don't know whether to wash it again or not?!

  • Some will say yes, some will say no. I, personally, don't wash it again. I only re-wash when a bird does it's doo doos on it.
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

No. If it is soaked I spin it, though.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I don't understand what good it will do to re-wash washing that has been lightly rained on - but hey ho, that's just me

Good grief this has never even occured to me! People don't really do that do they? I've done something like 10 loads in the last 3 days (just got back from hols) and if I washed every load that had been rained on I'd be ready to be comitted by now.

Don't wash rained on washing unless you are crazy;)

Yes, I do that but usually I leave it till dry again. Depends on how long it looks likely to be raining.

My aunty who is 68 washes it again, if it gets caught in the rain. I think she is mad for doing it, and she thinks I am mad for not! It takes all sorts to make the world go around, so I let her get on with it.

Nooo, I always reckon the softer water is like a bonus rinse with softener!!

Why does your aunty think it needs to be washed again:confused:? Just being nosy, as I would never in a million years even think of doing this.

No, I would just dry the washing. If it threw it down and I hadn't got to the washing it would stay on the line until it was dry or dry enough to move in doors to dry off.

I do sometimes, depends how much it's rained. If it's a light shower then I'll just leave it out to dry again but if there's been a downpour and it's dripping wet I stick it back in the washer.
