Good grief no , unless it was seriously marked which I would doubt I can think of better things to do like watching paint dry :):):)

lol a bunch of mixed responses :)

Having only had to think about it today I think I will leave lightly drizzled washing out to dry but hours and hours of down pour I may rinse/spin again :)

Let it dry. Give it a good 'scratch 'n' sniff' (feel it, smell it) then decide. If it still smells nice and fresh and like it's been washed, and feels nice, then you'd be 'claaazzzzy' to wash it again.
I just brought a couple of duvet covers in yesterday that had been rather well rained on. I smiled at how nice they still smelled. Never noticed the softness thing though.. off to have a feel now! hehe

I live in the country on the coast & I can confirm that our rain is really dirty - windows & the car really show it. However I have never noticed my clothes on the washing line being dirty once rained on  and I definately do not rewash.
  • i was it again but i won't be now so many of you don't thanks
  • I only do re-wash if it has been on the line a few days and has been rained on loads of times

I have to admit that if it starts to rain, I always rush out to bring the washing in if I am at home! I then hang it up inside on the airer to dry....

If I don't get to it on time, then I have always re-washed it in the washine machine (with tablets and fabric conditioner!), as I just presumed that you had to.... Won't be doing that again now though, lol!

Just another question to add, how long do you leave your washing in the machine before hanging it out? If I do a washing in the morning, and I haven't had a chance to hang it out by bedtime, I wash it again in the machine (again with tablets and fabric conditioner).... does everyone else do this or is this just another odd custom I have picked up from god knows where???!!

i heared a lady in local libary saying if a drop of rain landed on the washing she rewashed it all....blimey i thought u need to get out more....i do not rewash...with 2 kids i think rewashing washing could easily tip me over the edge

i try and hang out a wash asap after its washed...i dont normally starta wash until i know iv got the time to hang it out or tumble it....i think washing left in machine can start to smell after a bit...but im not sure how long
    onwards and upwards

We lived in a hard water area when I was a child .I can remember that some houses had a tank for rainwater and a third tap at the kitchen sink for water from the tank.
