"IF ONLY" are two words that come to mind. Higher up on this list, is a heading Mobile Phones/Internet etc, where EVERY aspect of tarifs/contracts/models are explained in full time after time. I am sure if the original poster were to browse there, all their concerns/questions/worries would be explained in detail.

Ref cash back contracts. That actually concerns me personally as I almost embarked on such a route. If my understanding is correct, whilst a monthly payment equates to £4.99 a month for example, to access this, you need to make several payments of £15, then several payments of £X culminating with payments of an even greater amount.

BUT, during the 12 month period, at certain times, you trot along with receipts showing that you have paid the required amount, then they return some to you.

If everything goes to plan and you remember to claim on the designated day/s, you will have over the twelve month period truely discover that each month has worked out at £4.99.

    What a performance !

    1) log into your linemypocket account. Then click through from linemypocket to open up the CPW site (make sure that you have turned off Norton adblocking - if you have it!)

    2) buy the phone from CPW. 24 hours later your linemypocket member account will show a processing credit of £15.

    3) In about 30 days, or whenever the returns period for CPW has ended your credit at linemypocket will show as "confirmed"

    4) Click on withdraw, then choose whether you want to be paid in Amazon vouchers or into your bank account (via Paypal) Simple!

If you need further help have a look at their FAQ section

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker

It seems peoples experience varies a lot - but as with most things people are more likely to write about it if they are unhappy rather than happy. People on the NEC thread are moaning because they tried to exploit a mistake by CPW but the error was spotted and closed. Granted it could have been handled better.

I'm not talking about annoyance at not getting a mistake honoured here, I'm talking about:

Overcharging without authorisation or even notice....
.... AND THEN... refusing to give a full refund, whilst lying through their teeth about sending an inferior version of the phones hoping no-one would notice, and saying only 3 customer services could give a refund.

Sorry but it really got my goat. They stole £15.00 off me (i returned the phone UNOPENED and UNTOUCHED as soon as I received it, yet they would still not refund me).

I just want to let people know so they don't suffer the same fate....

hope everyone had a great xmas :)

The 7600 is a good phone - if you look on eBay you'll see a potential for aking money fro this by getting the phone with contract, keeping the SIM and selling the phone on to cover the line rental 4 times over..

However, you must be careful about the cashback - onestopphoneshop suck beyond measure at actually sending the cashback. I would almost hazard that they write a certain number of non-or-refused claims into their calculations because it seems even clearly genuine claims are refused first time in the hope that the customer takes long enough re-applying that they pass the 45-day deadline for sending in claims.. Jus' bo warned folks, though this is a great deal if it comes off..
    Hi GimmeGimme

    Forgive me for being Thick!!

I find the mobile phone malarkee a bit too much but the offer sounds good. I am looking  for a phone for my 13 year old as he doesn't like the one I gave him a year ago ( for emegencies only ). It's a pay- as -you go thingy Nokia phone.

He wants one that can take pictures and listen to music MP3's. I believe this phone can do it.

You state that you have to pay £30/month in your last paragraph and claim back something. Is that correct?

I am not all with it, please advise. Is there something else I could consider as I don't think (hope) that the phone will be used that much. Also do the free minutes mean that you can ring any number even if the number dialled is on a different network?

    Many Thanks

    Haribol

Am I really alone in thinking that it's entirely inappropriate for children to be wandering around with £200 mobile phones? Or any mobile phones for that matter.. Or have you already bought him the TV, VCR, DVD Player, fridge-freezer, games room and helicopter he asked for last year?!?
  • dont know how to enable popups....we have free zone alarm.....help (in a penelope pitstop helpless kinda way)

You should not have a problem with those settings. Free Zone Alarm doesn't have any "adblocking"  only the paid for one does. Pop-ups don't matter either, as far as I understand its only adblocking programs that have an inbuilt pop-up blocker that are a problem.  I use google pop up blocker without any problems

Depends on its purpose. I completely disagree with the phones in the playground culture, however its reassuring to know that you can contact your little one at any time.

There are no grounds to assume that someone is spoiling their child just because they buy them a phone. The few words that someone writes about their life in a post on this forum doesn't really give other MSErs grounds to judge their parenting skills!
