I would just add to the above(in case we get more waffle) that this is for gas.

It also applies to electricity dropping from 225 tier1 units to 125 tier 1 units

Thank you so much for your trouble. Now I have a "baseline" to work from before I ring BG back to work through the bill. This is a different baseline to the one originally described to me during my intial converstions with two members of staff at BG.

I must also tell you , in manner and approach the staff at BG are a pleasure to deal with on the telephone. Perhaps a forum like this allows some BG staff the opportunity to let off steam in after work hours when they are in less direct, human, contact with their customers. :)

Was there ever a code/ reference for this Tariff rate/band that can be put into public domain so I can cross refernce them? If it can't don't worry, I try and find it out next time I contact BG.

    Thanks again.
  • Cardew : Thank you for that addition- I'm puzzled, surely all of this information is available on the BG website , ie 2007 rates?

urban, do you have a paper bill?
it's a while since I've seen a dead tree version, but if I remember correctly there will be a name for the tariff yuou are on at the top of a box on the first page, on the right hand side.
Could you tell us what it says?

There are numerous tariffs, however, all that began before after March 2000 and before Jan 2008 had the same threshold of Tier 1 kWH (1443/225).
In January 2008, the standard tariff, and any new tariffs moved to 670/125.
This was so basic that there was no name for it - it just was.
There is no magical code for that threshold, but there are codes that the systems use for the different tariffs that use the thresholds. If you tell us what tariff you are on we can all go and look at the rates (p/kWh)
