Hi
In my case I sent them a copy of the cancellation email I received from them months before. This they denied all along that I had cancelled the subs within the grace period.
Thankfully emails are the one area of my life that is organised. They refunded the outstanding amount very quickly.
I think it would be easier for you to contact your card provider, explain the situation and stop further debits if they will. That way the scammers can still credit you directly without making more excuses.
It troubles me that Trading Standards have not closed them down. It may not be illegal but the complaints about the methods to entrap people are astronomical. you would need to spend £500 a month or thereabouts just to recover the subscription.0 -

I got hit by this little number. Ive just called to cancel my membership. Not at anypoint was it made clear I'd be paying a membership to Rewardsnow.co.uk and I had cancelled my creditscorenow membership. Suppose I fell right into their hands, feeling safe and secure after cancelling it but no. When you tick for the "free" ASDA gift voucher they get you signed up to Rewardsnow. And it take up to 3-4 weeks to receive your voicher in the post
To those people claiming it's not a scam, its no more a scam than any other semi legal operation, but theres something they arent making clear.0 -
At lunch time today there was an interesting item on "You and Yours" (BBC Radio 4) about continuous authority.
The example they were using was the "free" moisturiser offer (just pay P & P) scam. It has featured on the forum from time to time.
According to the spokes woman for the bankers you first have to complain to the trader but then you can at least stop any future payments and possibly reclaim via your bank. So don't get fobbed off by your bank.
It seems the rules were changed about 18 months ago; presumably you could eventually go to the ombudsman.0 -
Please everyone go to the OFFICIAL GOVERNEMENT PETITION - if you go to the HM Governement site and then to e-petitions and type in Rewardsnow / rewards.co.uk Scam
Absolutely gobsmackingly enough there are only 38 signatures!! With the number of people across the internet that have complained about Rewards Now/ Adaptive Affinity, it is a shame people do not know about this e-petition !! :-(
Sign it now everyone!!!!0 -

I have recently scammed by Rewards Now. I only noticed last week when I noticed a card payment to Rewards Now. The noticed 2 more in the previous months total £59.85 I had never heard of them so I googled and came up with this forum. I did join Credit Score Matters and cancelled straight away. I emailed Rewards Now 3 times so far and they have refused to refund. The last email is below. Basically saying they can't proove that I signed up to rewards Now. I have now passed on to fraud department at my bank and hopefully they will be more succesfull. I have also signed the petition about Rewards now and urge others to do it as Trading Standards do not seem willing to deal with it. These people need shutting down.

Hi,
Big thanks to Ilovepurple. I sent them a copy of your email and they have refunded my £140 in full. I am so happy! Very grateful for your template and help.

They are hanging on until the very last minute. Instead of just stopping accounts they are taking the payments up until they cease trading. Talking tens of thousands of pounds from many customers who don't even realise they are paying monthly amounts for a service they don't access nor are aware of. Now THAT'S criminal.0
