I have had the same. Highcreditscore.co.uk have been taking £19.95 from my account for a service I have never asked for or used. I rang them to ask them why they were taking this money from my account as I have never heard from them. They informed me that in October 2010 I have registered for membership and they were entitled to take £19.95 out of my account each month. I was completley baffled. They had my old address and my card details but a completely made up email address that I have never heard of. I expressed to them that maybe I had been a victim of fraud as I have never been on to their website or asked for a credit check. They basically said that they could do nothing - even though when they looked at their system they could see that I had never activated my account. They maintained that they were still completely within their rights to have taken the money - now over £120 from me and were not prepared to give me a refund. Is there anything I can do??0

Your best bet is to read this thread from the start.. There's plenty more people who've suffered in the same way and got their money back.
Basically they're trying to fob you off by refusing to give you a refund. But so far they've always backed down when asked for actual physical proof that you signed up for their service.0 -
I did exactly the same as most people. Googled "Rewards Now" and came to this thread. I sent a slightly modified version of another poster's e-mail to them and within 24hrs they sent me an e-mail stating that the money was being refunded. Feel free to use my approach, it worked:

To Whom It May Concern:
I called earlier today with disappointment as I had been charged £19.95 for something from Rewards Now. After further investigation I have discovered that many others have also been charged for a service they did not access.
I was told earlier today that by clicking on a voucher for ASDA I had subscribed to Rewards Now (completely unbeknownst to me). I challenge you to provide evidence of me opening/clicking on this voucher. I would appreciate proof that I did click this button so that I can include this information in my complaint to the Office of Fair Trading. If you cannot provide this information I will have no option but to also report this fraudulent activity directly to the police in addition to my official complaint.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,

This was their response:
Dear ---
Thank you for your email received on 02 May 2011.
I can now confirm that your membership to Rewards Now has been cancelled with immediate effect. A full refund has been processed on your behalf. Please allow 7-10 working days for this be credited to your account.0 -
The payment is NOT unauthorised, because you signed up to the T&Cs, which you had to agree to before they'd allow you to use their service!!
It quite clearly states:
It also states you need to terminate the membership by writing to them or calling them.
This is quite clearly YOUR mistake, so perhaps you should take some responsibility for your action rather than trying to blame others and claim it's a scam.
FYI Mr/Miss im bored at home so want to be obnoxious.... these guys are linked to www dot creditscorematters. co . uk... and FYI YES they state those terms however what you are unaware of is the fact the even when youve cancelled that membership to avoid fees like they promise they STILL carry on taking money out... me and my partner have both cancelled such memberships twice now and they still keep on taking money. The case is now lying in the fraud department..... so people having these issues, do the same.0 -
Hi, call your bank and go through to fraud team... note though, the site does state clearly that unless you cancel the membership, £19.95 a month will be taken out... make sure you cancel it... or they are within rights to take the money.. note also tho - me and my partner did it and cencelled the memberships twice and they still keep trying to take money0

- You may not receive information but you do pass information to third parties in the form of other brands operated by Adaptive Affinity (Rewards Now, High Street Max etc).
- Customers do indeed have to enter all their details onto your sign up page but are not asked to enter their details for the third party (Rewards now, High Street Max etc).
- We only have your word regarding the sending of any welcome email. You could eradicate any doubt by operating a system whereby accounts are only activated once the customer has clicked on a link from your welcome email. Unfortunately, for reasons known to yourselves, you choose not to do this.

Hi Toni,
You need to have MSE permission to post on behalf of a company. I'll copy the most relevant part of the Forum Rules below...Forum_Team wrote:How do I get a right of reply on what's been said about my company?
If you're from a company, have seen a post you feel is defamatory or offensive and would like the right of reply please email the Forum Team at forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com to ask.
A member of the MSE Team will carry out checks to confirm that you are authorised to represent the company in question.
Provided you have authority to represent your company, you may either be asked to give a statement, which one of the MSE Team will post on your behalf in reply, or be given permission to post directly on the specific thread.
Where permission has been given for you to post directly on a thread, a note from the MSE Team will appear on the thread confirming this.
If someone has posted claiming to be from a company but this has not been followed by a MSE Team note confirming authorisation please use the warning triangle in the bottom right of the post to report it, or email the link to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
There is one, single exception to this rule. If you're from a company and have a discount code you'd like to offer MoneySavers this rule is waived in the Great Want to Offer MoneySavers a Discount? Hunt. You can post your discount once only, on that thread but nowhere else on the forum and shouldn't post about your company anywhere else on the forum.

I think I am certain that the people who talked about these two linked companies are RIGHT,I am the latest victim and only spotted this thread by accident.
IT was not at all CLEAR despite the shady fact one was dealing with TWO LINKED COMPANIES,to me I was just interested in the 10day FREE trial and I knew I hadnt cancelled in that time so I expected a charge initially.
I didnt find it unusual that they requested card details because even the well known credit reference agencies require this to verify you,and also they hope that you will stay with them after that free period so require details of where they can take the money from.
I do not have a lot of money only money paid in fortnightly to keep me surviving, I was shocked when I noticed two months later that £40 was taken out of what I have paid in I contacted the bank to stop it but they couldnt as it was a debit and couldnt tell me who was taking it beforehand as I didnt realise who it was they can only give details afterwards which didnt help.
I suffer with health problems and memory and checked e mails to see if they would identify or say thanks for payment or whatever but nothing .
Two months later I had money paid in of £100 on a saturday evening and was waiting for it to appear in my account when I went to take the £100 out it only allowed me £60 again they took on a Saturday night without no request from me or to my e mail beforehand like most companies do that they were going to do so, nor because I didnt cancel did they ever make any contact to the fact that I owed them for a period etc then obiously I would have cancelled and they were aware of that,EVERY MOVE THEY MADE WAS UNDERHAND DESPITE WITHIN THE MARGINS OF LEGAL,THEY HAD THEIR SYSTEM SET THAT THEY TOOK MONEY EVEN OUT OF NORMAL TIMES AND THE MINUTE IT HIT ONES ACCOUNT.
I have no option now but to close the account from what I have just read I am unable to leave money in the account for others because it could be taken,I sent an e mail to them when I finally got it and requested a refund for a service I have never used I was not aware of signing to REWARDSNOW FOR £19.95 A MONTH a pile of rubbish of no use to me this stemmed from a 10day trial.
Anyway the reply spoke volumes it was nasty reding no refund will be issued you signed for this and were aware of that it was like they were use to sending this sort of reply and it was very gangster style,I am wary alwways have been but NO THEY CERTAINLY DID NOT HAVE MY INTERESTS AT HEART AND DID NOT ACT PROPER IT WAS VERY SNEAKY AND NOT ONE EMAIL WAS SENT TO SAY THEY WOULD BE TAKING THE MONEY ETC AND THAT REPLY SAID IT ALL,WHO WOULD WANT TO PAY SOMEONE £19.95 A MONTH FOR SUPPOSEDLY DISCOUNTS ON JUNK WHEN THEY HAVENT EVEN GOT MONEY TO LIVE ON.
AVOID THEM TWO SITES THE SAME THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DONE AND SO DO i.0
