Been treading water. Not going backwards is the positive spin on it. But just been feeling very melancholy.
Have got some inspiration from the wake up call thread as it seems there are a few of us going nowhere fast.
Hey -ho.
Hi DC
I understand how you feel, truely. What I am doing is focusing on just how far Ive come in this money saving, debt busting process. you are doing so v well and dont youforget it. Just look forward, keep your eyes on the prize in front, being debt free, decluttered, whatever you want it to be. You will get there. We've all just need to keep the self discipline and self belief! Hi SH
Thanks for your concern, and you Paf
Tis nothing serious affecting me, an anniversary, sad news from a couple of friends, and as much as I try to feel positive - sometimes you just take a deep sigh and accept life can be cruel.
I'm okay, still plugging away at everything. No intention of giving up, just taking a breather.
Some interesting thoughts on the wake up call thread. Putting priorities in some assemblance of order. Easy to blame being in debt for everything else, can become all consuming and actually I shouldn't look at it that way. There is so much more to life than my marbles card.
Right off to shake the world - lol.DC.

Morning
Been rush ing around for the last 2 weeks, doing okay but house has desended in complete junkyard. I blame the World Cup, DS1 on study leave and my OU course. Come to the conclusion I really am not destined to have a sparkly clean and tidy house, so stop fighting it.
Financially all bills are paid this month, but I thought I'd have a go at reducing interest rates. I know I'm not going to get a new card to BT to so I thought I'd give my two highest rates a ring.
Talk about frustrating ! Both companies customer services reps were very welcoming and put me on hold, came back to transfer me to the customer attention department or some other silly named office.
When I get through one company said, wrong department, the other was a recorded message to ring the number I had just rung.
They really don't want to know do they ?
So I know this goes against all MSE advice but with my Marbles card at 37.95% I'm getting nowhere fast with it, so in September I'm going to investigate a consolidation loan with my bank. So tired of this card. I've had it for 10 years and it started at 5.5% !
Rant over, thanks for reading.DC.

Consolidation is only a bad thing if you fail to cut up the original card, end up spending on it, and result in having both the loan and the same amount of CC debt at a silly APR.
If you have learned the MSE lessons, then you will consolidate, cut up the card and close the Marbles account, then focus on getting the loan gone asap.
I've done it a couple of times on this journey - and because I have done it "properly" it has worked. So I say go for it!
As for the junkyard house.......I am in no position to possibly comment :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
So what am I going to do today to make a real go at changing things round here ? Because believe me, it's looking pretty shabby.
Sort mounting paperwork, and piles of silly stuff that my sons 'dump' and run. Things are not in the right place, because they don't have a right place. Then shred the useless stuff like out of date insurance policies.
This alone will clear some clutter and be therapeutic.
Menu plan and stick to it !
My ebay attempts stopped last month, get back to it, have a box somewhere that I started putting things in.

Morning DC,
You sound very determined :T. That house will not know what's hit it today.
I need to find a place for things in my kitchen. I've always got pots and pans lying around because there is no room for them in the cupboards, yet i've got a lot of cupboards. There must be things that can get thrown out.
I think I will join you today, but just focus on finding a place for things in the kitchen.
Thanks xI learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
