He has his life before him, he is an empowered young man who can learn a trade now, and end up being his own boss, anything. Take care of yourself!

    Hi DC,

Missing you. You are doing a great job raising those boys, and I am sure he will be extremely grateful for your stance as he gets older and wiser, and has the skills necessary to provide for himself and any family. The easy option is not usually the best one.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  • Thank you for all your kind words. I'm pretty sure I'm there with him. Everything else has been on the back burner. With his mates having the Summer 'off' and he's been hard at work it's hard for him. He has two jobs. So intensly (sp?) proud of him, but I hope one day he might actually be proud of himself.

Anyway I have a day off and I know what I have to do, a multitude of jobs, from OU to ironing, so I had best get on with it.

  • So much for OU and ironing. Found myself applying for a job online, local company, 5 minutes walk down the road. Got a call early yesterday morning and have interview today, soooo nervous. Nearly doubles my salary.
    Please think positive for me....

    Did you get the job?

  • Yep :) Still can't quite believe it ! Will earn an extra £330 a month to start, not sure of beyond probationary peroid (was too ecstatic and trying to stop the whooping !)

Strangest interview ever, not one single..where do you see yourself in 5 years..or what are your strengths questions. More of a moral based interview, to see what type of person I was.

This means a big change in home life, FT from PT, but one thing at a time. I can regain some self respect, a decent wage and can actually get somewhere financially.
    Big sigh of relief !
