Know what you mean about the visitors. We get our fair share as we too live away from friends and relations. But it does put a strain on the purse of course as you have to get in extra stuff as they never eat the same as you do and then there is the eating out too. Just console yourself with they WILL go home soon and then you can get back on track.

Hi DC
Just popping in
Don't stress - I know how you feel about fighting the never ending battle of clutter - but baby steps - little by little and we will get there. You are doing great.
I am trying to get focussed on ebay too but also keep getting distracted by Come Dine With Me - love it!Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0 -
Thanks people.
One of my favourite sayings is it's the little things that make the big things happen. So slowly but surely battling with the clutter will make for a relaxing place to be.
Am struggling with what to feed guests tonight.
As we hit the halfway mark of school Summer holidays thoughts of school shoes pop in to my head, looking at £80. Done everything else the shirts and trousers etc, but it's the shoes....oh and the labelling, ugh.
Ebay - so dislike it now, used to be my way of making a living but these days so many questions and silly offers. Think I'm wasting my time selling our DVD's on there. May just list them as a job lot, instead of all this faffing around. Or maybe Amazon ?
Work, major rumblings in the undergrowth there. Saw a position for a charity shop assistant manager advertised. Never really done retail but am wondering if it's worth a go, nothing to lose.
Well the dishwasher won't empty itself....DC.

As you say, nothing to lose - go for it!
I list DVDs on amazon - it is dead easy and if just a few sell from time to time it all helps!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Am feeling decidedly spoilt. Late DH's family won't let me pay for anything ! Had a week of consuming some lovely food and some real giggles. More to come today. Must admit I'm looking forward to an early night tomorrow.DC.

The occasional spoiling is lovely, when we were back home last month it was lovely not to worry about what to make for tea etc. Nice just to relax little and enjoy time with family.Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Now thats a bargain, unfortunately or actually fortunately my two boys are at the 'wouldn't be seen in a coat' stage ! Gave up buying them because they just won't wear them ! DS1 may put a fleece on at a push if it's frosty.
Yes Turfy, I agree. Pressure off of what to cook, as a result have had 5 NS days and a freezer full of food ! Visitors leave today, SIL coming next Monday. So I have a mad week of trying to put the house back together.
Am very tired. Will be in bed by 9 tonight.DC.

So tired. Bed at 8.30 last night, broken sleep.
Paid a few minimum payments this morning, I'm paddling along, not making any great strides, but remembering next month I'll be £100 better off thanks to paying off CTC.
Have to conclude whats on the menu this week, minimum spend methinks.DC.
