  • Just been online banking, seem to have an extra £85 than I thought, always scares me in case there's a card payment waiting to go through somewhere. I'm usually quite aware of how much is in there (or isn't as the case usually is !) so I'll resist throwing it at the beastly Marbles card for now.

Focus last night was on ebaying son's items. This drum kit of his can go for £122 used others have gone for £45. He's very excited. He did all the work with the photos. So I guess today I should do my bit.

There is something strange about the sky it appears it is blue ! Not an overcast grey colour. There is no water lashing down, what is this ?

DFD now October 2013, that's just a few extra overpayments here and there under a tenner. So good to see.

    Good Morning

And thanks for the positive comments. The smoking. I know I can do this, without NRT. The physical 'addiction' is nothing, it's just the reward cycle I need to break.

    .

NRT is far from the only help that the NHS offer. The counselling can be really helpful in giving you tips or prompting you to come up with your own strategies on how to break the habits associated with smoking, helping you to identify why you smoke and why previous quit attempts have not been successful. I once read an expert saying that smoking isn't one habit, it's a separate habit for every cigarette you smoke per day. So the one you reach for whilst you are brewing the first cup of tea is a habit to be broken, the one you always have right after lunch etc. etc. A lot of smokers make the mistake of setting a quit date, but don't prepare for what happens then - the preparation and planning is the most important part in success.

Hi DC sounds like you are doing really well on the DF front, and your son is doing great too! A little thing I used to do when I was trying to give up the cigs, is make sure I put one somewhere in sight, ie on top of the kitchen cupboard or wherever you want. Then you know you have one in the house but makes you determined also not to have it IYKWIM. sounds a bit mad but it worked for me also liquourice flavoured chewing gum! yuk now but it worked. I have been ciggy free for almost 12 yrs! :j A bout of pneoumonia made me give up. Anyway good luck just wanted to share a tip.

  • Turfy, that makes sense. TY. I read Gillian Riley's book last year and and it's along her lines that you can have them around you, sort of takes the pressure off. Goes against the wonderful Allen Carr, who gave me 5 glorious smoke free months.

Shiny new month. Shame the weather doesn't want to kick off August with any sort of celebratory appearance of the sun !

Meal plan sorted for the next week, usage of freezer contents utilized. Am going to do a massive online shop at MR T's these boys are emptying the fridge so fast. I haven't used mysupermarket.com yet so will venture out there. Any tips ?

I've started the £10 a day challenge with a cash in on Lightspeed. Checked YouGov and have £25 so that'll be another year then.

I reckon we have enough DVD's to worry lovefilm, so today I will put a minimum of 10 up on ebay or Amazon.

I have a very long todo list. If the weather is going to do this to me then I have no choice. In my quest to administer some TLC to this house I started to paint the hall - get this - last August ! Didn't like the colour so stopped. it's only an hours job, I have the new paint so I must do it...no procrastination allowed.

Ironing pile situation, you are safe 40SM I found it and beat it down by 50% while watching Come Dine With Me last night. (I love that program !). Half of the remaining contents are school uniform waiting to labelled, then washed, and the ever growing pile of odd socks, so it's not too bad.

Still job searching, there really is nothing that fits. I've been thinking about learning a new language for ages now, if I did it could I take a whole new career path ? I don't have a career as such ATM, that dissolved some 15 years ago. No regrets, of course I loved being a SAHM, and playing with lego was so much more fun ! Even been toying with learning sign language, mmmm investigation needed.

Now where's the paint brush ?
