  • I have scars from sewing ! Seriously and I'm only half way through, Ugh.

Anyway, neighbours are returning from holidays, two lots of them, all tanned and tired. Part of me wants to go abroad, part of me thinks of all the stress let alone the finance involved. (Stress ? Mad Dog in kennels, boosters at vets etc etc. House sitters for other pets. Finance ? Aside from the outlay, new passports, photos, clothes etc.) I couldn't afford even if I wanted to go. Haven't had a holiday for 5 years, last time we went abroad was 1993, but then thats when I had my financial beer goggles on, and why I'm here now.

I'm not feeling down or depressed about it, it's another goal. One Day.

vegetarians and dog food made me smile lol!

I bet you are looking forward to the extra £100 a month. Have you put that extra into the snowball calculator to see how much further forward your debt free date will be? And what about if you put in £188 extra a month....

I am assuming that you will have already heard all of the blackmail around stopping smoking so won't mention it hear. But if you want me to nag you about it by using such emotive issues, then I will lol:eek:

Nag away ! Bout time I started living up to this signature of ours :) Going to do it.
Have cut down to 5 cigarettes a day - I know it's not the advised way to do it but I have my plan. Not going to declare it here - yet.....
Imagine a garunteed (sp?) extra £188 a month, not put it in the snowball yet. Need time, empty house, focussed mind.
Only two days left to work this week, then the best part of a week off. Been job hunting this morning. Seen ideal office admin job, requires SAGE experience though, can't bluff my way through that. Def need some training in new skills.

Haven't yet fed the dog veggie meals or visitors any chappie so it's good so far !

Glad to hear you have a cunning plan DC, hope that it goes well for you!!
It is also a relief to know that none of your guests have yet to sample the wonders of whatever it is thats in the dogs dinner!! Was getting worried for them!

Have you thought about one of those ILA training things?? you can get up to £300 towards certain courses, some of which you can do at home and im pretty sure that SAGE would be a standard one thats included? x

  • oh kirsten.....that's interesting...but I've dropped out of my last two OU courses, wrong time, head not in the right place. So it's got to be for real this time. Hence my earlier suggestion on learning sign language. Totally different learning track.
Going to look into it though TY.

Well my biggest reason for giving up smoking was I couldn't face having to tell my children that I would be there for them when they were growing up. The need to be there for them was far greater than my need for a ciggie. And I guess this would go double for you if they have already lost their dad....

  • Yes Chev, that one has been made very clear to me by them and my innerself. I know it's true. One day I want to be the grandparent.

Hypno who knows what I get up to in that kitchen, got a bit of a family gathering tonight and I will be cooking so l will be careful when serving up ! Don't think the dog would care much, he's eaten remote controls in the past....

  • Hi Different Corner

Hope you are still doing well re cutting down on the ciggies and you are ok. I have a goal board in the lounge which i find really helpful, and Ive just taken a look at it and so this post to you will be my last on MSE tonite as I need to do a few things before bed! Keep up with the focus and all! Perhaps a goal board for you including a picture of you not smoking would help?! Or a picture of your children, or some encouraging words posted around your house, that way keep you from having any more than you allow yourself to have. Anyway, take care

ooh a remote control, sounds like my mums dog!!

We have a cat who is only ever around when theres food on the go, altough I have been taught not to moan...I once 'shouted' at him for being greedy and told him he was an outdoor cat who is supposed to hunt if he's hungry outwith his breakfast and tea...came downstairs the following morning to find 2 birds presented to me in the living room...'I can hunt u plonker, I just cant be bothered!!'

I dont argue with him now!!
