Feel so stupid sitting with tears streaming down my face, so stressed out, and this isn't like me at all.

I think the police will take notes of the texts and then allow you to keep the phone in case he tries to make further contact in which case you have more evidence against him..
I would seriously consider changing your number if it means you've got peace of mind... The police would probably advise you to do the same. Without your number what else does he have to go on? Your name but that could of been fake- Like I say, he doesn't know much about you or who you live with, associate with so please try not to worry sending you a big cyber (((HUG)))) it can't be nice xx
Stupidly, my email address has my name in it - why oh why did I do that
And knows my local area.
I know I'm probably over-thinking things, just hard not to when it's happening.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
To be fair, he can't spell and is stupid enough to think that he can get away with harrassing you, so I seriously doubt he'll make that connection...0

You're not listed in the telephone directory or the Electoral Roll are you?0

Telecommunications Act 1984, Section 43
(1) A person who
(a) sends, by means of a public telecommunication system, a message or other matter that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character or
(b) sends by those means, for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another, a message that he knows to be false or persistently makes use for that purpose of a public telecommunication system,
shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale or both.
Would it be worth your peace of mind just to hand him his money (with company of course in a neutral venue such as the police station) and take back your item?
Failing this, do log a complaint against him with the police. This is commoner than you think and the police are well used to dealing with such offences.0 -
Telephone directory - no
Electoral roll - Yes
That bad??

try not to freak out.
If he is in the locality get the cops to have a word.
they are far more likely to react if they are in the same area as the accused0 -
Probably not. A loon with "Death" tattooed on his neck might not be bright enough to think of it. Just another reason to get yourself down to the Police station and get this harassment reported asap.
DO NOT ON ANY ACCOUNT AGREE TO MEET HIM WITH OR WITHOUT SOMEONE ACCOMPANYING YOU TO COLLECT OUR ITEM AND REFUND THE MONEY. If it isn't fake, he's not contacting you because he thinks you sold him a fake. He has altogether a different purpose and I'm sure you realise that0 -
