as mentioned if he produces a fake to the police its his word against yours, firstly you said he looked over the goods was happy and paid you, you have no obligation to offer any sort of refund.
I dont understand why you would be so hesitant to involve the police and just have this dealt with, unless you did actually sell some fake goods and are worried about the consequences on yourself??
I guess I am a bit hesistant, but like one of the other posters says, it's more to do with how do I explain this to the polic and will they take me seriously, or think I'm just being paranoid/silly/stupid. I've never really had dealings with the police and don't really want to start now.
I guess I'm also kinda worried that if I DO involve the police, and they contact him, that it may flame him up even more, if you know what I mean? His manner, appearance and even the way he dressed says to me that he's not exactly the type of person that I want trouble with.
I didn't sell fake goods at all, I was just asking whether they would take that as his word and come after me type thing, for the same reasons above, that I don't particularly want dealings with the police.
Thanks again.

if you still have the texts then use that as your proof to take it to the police, the only problem i see by you not reporting it (and im not trying scaremonger here) but if it escalates and he does find where you live atleast by having it on record with the police already for harrasment you will be taken more seriously should something occur.hieveryone wrote: »I guess I am a bit hesistant, but like one of the other posters says, it's more to do with how do I explain this to the polic and will they take me seriously, or think I'm just being paranoid/silly/stupid. I would have thought all they would do is contact him to see what is going on and tell them him to leave it alone or he will be picked up and brought inEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Option.... is Go to the police and explain what happend... and say your getting harassment from this Person. and Change your number then |MoveOn|
Why go to the police? because this sound like a person who is a bit more than meets the eye
Dont lose sleep over this loser !!!0 -
I would say that if you are as squeeky clean as you say,
then you have nothing to worry about
Can I suggest that you register the calls with the police as a concern. and get a reference number
then ignor all contact. (but keep a record)
if it does not calm down contact the police again and press charges.0 -
Thanks,
I may do that tomorrow then. He said in a few of his texts 'I give you 48 hours' and things like that, so it is getting to me.
Would I just go to the local police office and ask to report harassment? I've never really had to report anything so not sure of the procedure.
Just not nice when something like this happens.

This is the thing that is concerning me - because I have no proof that he has my goods (well, the thing I sold him) - for all I know he's sold it on and has some copy, claiming I gave him that.
In his first few texts after I left he's written things like 'my partner will be so happy...' because he said it was for a gift
but then written 'you looked so nice' and when I didn't respond to that he seemed to get all heavy handed.

IMO do not phone and report it.
go to the biggest police station you can and report it directly with an officer not a admin etc
I got ripped off by a family member using my credit card, reported it at work, met them at work.
It took 4 weeks to get passed 12 miles accross the county.
by which time all CCTV had been wiped and i had to pay the lot, with interest.
hope this helps0 -
Definitely with the others here, I think that you should contact the police, and they will take it much more seriously if you go in person. Take all of the information you can, write a report before you go to them so that you don't forget any important information.0

Well just received another text saying that he has reported my ebay and that I can 'forget my account' with them - there is no active listings under my ebay name so not sure what he means. And states that tomorrow morning he will be going to the police with my 'add and phone number'.
All this for a bit of a clear out

a good reason to log it with the police. In his first few texts after I left he's written things like 'my partner will be so happy...' because he said it was for a gift
but then written 'you looked so nice' and when I didn't respond to that he seemed to get all heavy handed.
but try not to lose too much sleep over it.
Bullies usually have big mouths, big muscles and very little ability to back up their threats.0
