you need to report, it doesn't matter wheter he has a fake in his possesion or not the goods are irrelevant this is harrasment, you should check your ebay and see if you have had any contact from them and if you have tell them the situation and you are reporting it to the police
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Take your phone to the police and and tell them you're frightened of a man who's harassing you, then show them the texts - the nastiest ones first.

They can find out who the phone is registered to and go and pay him a visit.

They'll be nice to you I promise - they take this kind of thing very seriously and like to nip it in the bud.

Let us know how you get on. (we worry! :o)

    Thanks guys,

I was so worked up earlier, I've never came across anything like this before and it's really unsettling.

I have the iphone so all of the texts are logged as one big conversation showing what I've sent and what he's sent. Do you think the police will think I'm stupid for writing back with my point of view to him? There's around 5 messages where I've asked him to leave me alone and he's sent some messages 2 or 3 times in a row without any reply.

Thanks for the support everyone, there's so many scenarios going around in my head - think I'm my own worst enemy!

most police i know do their job for the good of the community thay serve.
They dont like bullies or people who harrass.

    as recommended.
write it all down even in bullet points so you dont forget anything, feelings of threat etc.

    remmember.

you are not the one at fault here.

OP just a thought but he may already be known to the police for similar things- He sounds very confident in his threats so it does seem that he has done it before.

As much of a pain as it is, can you not get your mobile provider to change your number? They can do it these days so you don't have to wait for a new sim- That was a great relief to me when I was having some rather strange phone calls!

    Hope you're ok?! xx

    Thanks again.

Feel so stupid sitting with tears streaming down my face, so stressed out, and this isn't like me at all.

His texts are all spelling mistakes and hard to read - would the police keep my phone or take details from it?

edited: thanks pnq06, yes I could change my number, would be the usual hassle but probably worthwhile if I'm going to fret everytime my phone beeps.

I don't think they'll think you're stupid, just explain that you didn't want to seem like a walk over as you did nothing wrong but now its getting beyond comfortable.

Let family and friends know whats going on too so if you feel a bit uneasy at night then a quick ring to someone will mean for them to come straight round.

Please don't fret too much, he sounds like a bully that probably tries his luck at these sorts of things all the time- Lets face it, the naive fool knows nothing about you, you could belong to the !!!!! for all he knows so I doubt he'd want to meet again in case you bring someone down. xx

Of course his texts are all spelling mistakes and hard to read, he's got flipping "Death" tattooed on his neck!

He's a perve and a bully and he's probably getting his rocks off from the thought of intimidating you in this way. I daresay he imagines that you deserve this harassment because you "spurned" him.

Get yourself down to the Police station first thing tomorrow morning. As a previous poster said, they are probably acquainted with him already

I think the police will take notes of the texts and then allow you to keep the phone in case he tries to make further contact in which case you have more evidence against him..

I would seriously consider changing your number if it means you've got peace of mind... The police would probably advise you to do the same. Without your number what else does he have to go on? Your name but that could of been fake- Like I say, he doesn't know much about you or who you live with, associate with so please try not to worry sending you a big cyber (((HUG)))) it can't be nice xx
