I assume from your attitude that he was a different race or ethnicity to you and you are worried about being accused of racism. I don't think most people here have such knee-jerk reactions.
I hope you have informed the police and are keeping records at this point. Are you?
Hi, yes that's what I'm afraid of being accused of. But it wasn't just that - his whole appearance. For example, he had a tattoo on his neck saying 'death'
I just got the feeling he wasn't a 'good' character.

They'd have to prove that you sold them fake goods, so if you are confident that they are genuine then don't worry. Also... if you aren't reguarlly trading these things then you'll probably be okay anyway, I'm sure trading standards are reasonable. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Thanks for your replies guys, putting me at ease a little. Can't help that 'looking over my shoulder' feeling though.
Can't believe it's come to this after having a little clear out! I'm never selling anything again!
I forgot to mention, because it was sold on a local type site, he knows the area that I come from, and my full name, which is making me feel edgy.

If you feel this threatened you MUST go to the police with the evidence you have.0

I would like to give a better picture I really would, but I really feel I would get flamed and start a big debate which I don't want to do.
Aside from his appearance, the way he said things made me uncomfortable, he said that I 'looked really nice' when we met, and sent me a text saying 'you know you looked really nice' after I had left, which I felt uneasy with.
I know that I would be in the right to contact the police, but what about him? Can he go and tell them I sold him something fake? (even though I didn't?) I've handed everything over to him now so I have no documentation etc.
he sounds like a right perv, id be wound up so much if he said that to my missus, coming on a bit strong i think....0 -
I've never had to deal with anything like this before so I guess I'm just worried they'll think I was so stupid to do it in the first place, which I'm starting to think I was, and not take it seriously.
I see that this leaves you open to all sorts of trouble, when just having a clear out to get rid of some things and someone sees an opportunity to try and intimidate someone

I would go to the police, register it as harrasment
(could also be public order, but thats usually face to face)
maybe ask the police to phone him and have a word.

I know what you mean about feeling uneasy about someone's behaviour but you know that when you write it down it won't look like much and people who have never been in that situation won't "get it".
I get it though honey, I know exactly what you mean, and I know that DoWhatYouLove/LoveWhatYouDo has had some problems with eBay pick ups so I'm sure she'll get it too.
So don't worry about getting flamed.
(and if it turns out that somebody fails to empathise with your situation then just see it as that - a failure on their part, and not yours.)
Anyway, my advice is short and sweet.
Keep your eyes open and your door locked, but otherwise try not to fret about it. If there's no more contact put it out of your mind.
I'd also recommend making a police report with the threatening texts.
Definitely get the police involved if there is any more contact.
It's a hassle but you'll feel safer.

what was it you sold?
as mentioned if he produces a fake to the police its his word against yours, firstly you said he looked over the goods was happy and paid you, you have no obligation to offer any sort of refund.
I dont understand why you would be so hesitant to involve the police and just have this dealt with, unless you did actually sell some fake goods and are worried about the consequences on yourself??Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
It sounds to me like he is a bit of a perve, and trying to get into a situation where he can meet you again (wanting more of the items - and as you don't have anymore, then complaining and trying to get you to meet him).
I think you would be better off ignoring all texts/calls from his number - that way he may cool off.0
