I don't know if any of this would work since it sounds like it's the app causing the issue, but i guess you've already tried this?If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
See this document for information on addressing these symptoms.- Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
- If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
- If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset iPhone settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.
- If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears restore the iPhone software. See Backing up, updating and restoring your iPhone and iPod touch software.

XP has a fax function though it is not always part of a standard install. I would be surprised if it was dropped from Vista. Maybe it was but it is worth checking if you ever need to send a fax. If you didn't select it at initial install, you should be able to install it if you have the original CD. That is what I did with my laptop that came preloaded with XP but without the fax function.hieveryone wrote: »..edit to add: My computer doesn't have it apparantly. Not to worry, have sent the letter so hopefully they will remove records asap.
Good luck with your stalker. I think you are probably worrying unnecessarily as these situations usually don't come to anything. Only a really extreme idiot is going to pursue you from 50 miles away.
I suggest that you report it to the police and then just try to forget about him.0 -
Thanks Avoriaz, I've done that today.
But now have no phone!

I'm still looking for a fix to avoid restoring and losing everything, but without knowing about them i'm not getting far!!
I feel so responsible!! 0 -
Aw BeenieCat, please don't feel bad - honestly, I chose to install it without even looking into it.. it's entirely my fault, honestly.
I don't think I'm going to get it restored without losing everything, but I know that on contract certainly, the server stores all messages sent - so if it came to anything hopefully they would be able to find his texts to me - the policeman saw the texts anyway and made a note of one.

BeenieCat - maybe you ought to edit your earlier post with the link just in case someone else uses it without reading all the thread.
hieveryone - hope you can fix it soon, do you have a landline? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

From what i gather, it's not that the link/application is fatal to the phone, but it's buggy and you need to install something else to go with it. (apparently!)
It seems to be a common problem with 3rd party applications from my extensive researching tonight!!0 -
Another possible fix (from a forum not me):
First open iTunes and Connect your iPhone cord to your computer, but do not plug it into your iPhone. Then press and hold the home button on your phone while conecting the iPhone cord into your iPhone continue to hold down the home button. Then click restore in iTunes. Good Luck!
Hope you get it working soon

Yes, have a landline
I don't think I'm going to get it fixed with the texts intact.
This is just typical after all this - thank goodness I reported it today and showed the texts to the policeman.
