If you are adamant the watch was genuine, and even if proven it wasnt, the chances of it getting to court would be very slim, there is always mediation first if it ever gets that far, you would not be prosecuted for selling something in good faith, and the worst that would happen is for him to get his money back, but for peace of mind would you not just return the money and take the loss, seems unfair, but for peace of mind its an option.Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years0 -
Thanks wheresmydoshat and jojo1964, it is reassuring to know.
I'd like to say 'yeh, just give back the money and take the loss', but however worried I am I feel that that would just show him that he can bully someone to get his own way?
Hypothetically, even if it wasn't genuine (which it is), then I still don't see any reason to have sent the kind of things that he did, or threaten me by text?

Even if you did "give him back the money and take the loss" there is no guarantee that he won't stop bugging you. It sounds a bit like he is trying to find an excuse so that you will meet up with him in person and because of what he has said to you about how he thinks you look nice, I would be very wary to meet with him again if you feel you must resort to giving him back the money. However, I don't think you should do this as it will give him the wrong message that he can extort money from people by bulling them. Be strong. It would probably end up costing him a lot more than £300 to take you to court or follow you around and I doubt he's going to be doing that. I think it's all bluff. He's trying to intimidate you and he is succeeding. Don't let him.0 -
Thankyou. That's why this place is so great, good advice and support when you need it.
No idea why he's texting me saying it will cost me to go to court? I take it this must be a scare tactic he thinks will work?

Probably If he keeps contacting you just pass it on to the poloice and ignore it0 -
Well 5 pages and my first sarcy comment, it was going quite well there!
I don't think someone who has my full name and postcode making a threat to find out where I live and being worried about that is being a drama queen.
Nor someone writing that I 'have 48 hours before he finds me' and that I have 'picked the wrong guy'.
But anyway, thanks for your input.

Why don't you read the thread and find out seeing as you know so much?
In fact, forget it, just looked at some of your other posts and you're the same type of person who this thread is about - a bully.
You're also probably one of the group that Martin has specifically asked to cut their behaviour out to make this site a nicer place to post in - and he is being very strict with the rules on that as I see, so you might want to try taking an extra sugar with your tea and sweetening up a bit.

you cant keeping fretting over what may or may not be going on in this blokes head, just deal with and move onEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
I have a Samsung phone & you can block numbers (both calls & texts) so not sure where this 'you cant block numbers stuff came from' !!0
