I thought that too, they probably expected rampant hysteria, whereas most of us are quite philosophical on here!!0

It's a shame "real" users of this site can't be vetted in some way to avoid putting up with posts by stupid journos trying to make a story.
The next dumb question I see on here from someone who just joined is going to receive a pre-emptive abuse strike

So you think this is a normal flu year? Have you not read anything about this? I hope you aren't one of the 1 in a 1000 that will die.
Its' funny how I've just got back from 3 weeks in the USA with virtually little news about swine flu, with its neighbour being Mexico and land back in Britain to total hysteria...
I am a mother too you know.. and I rent, but I live on Earth, not Mars. Get a grip!0 -
hurrah for the common sense of the ordinary man and woman !!!!
i have been saying " swine fly = media hype = ignore it = for weeks and weeks
thank goodness MSE folks can see thru this media/government nonsense that we are all going to die ..... pats on backs for most MSEers ....
The OP is just another person showing their 'sheepleness' to the world... :rolleyes:0 -

It's worse than that.....I don't think this is a free-range organic thread either “Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

I know it's not directly health related but what about all the fuss over the millenium and what happened

Exactly, and I actually flew from the USA to the UK on 01/01/2000 and was in totally luxury on an almost empty plane!
If the media didn't hype stories, the newspapers wouldn't sell...0
