OK.. so stay at home. have no contact with the outside world.

Do shopping online, do you really know how many people have handled that tub of butter before it was picked by a worker to put in your delivery ? You can't ignore the rest of the world until we're declared free of this virus.

I ( as many people are ) am carrying on as usual, if I catch it, I catch it, I'm not that worried. ( actually slightly worried about the OH catching it, as he had pnemonia (sp?) a few years back so has a weakened respiratory system)

We're being told to cover our noses when we sneeze, wash our hands.. but surely this is something do anyway ?

So 99.9% of the population will survive. Am I bovvered?

You should be. We're a small island and, assuming you have some sort of life, you'd be fairly lucky if 0.1% of the population dying didn't have any kind of effect on you.

Not saying, of course, that it will be that bad, but 1/1000 is't to be laughed at - it's a big chunk when it's people's lives you're talking about.

I'm planning on staying at home permanently. There are a lot of buses out there and I may get run over by one!

    I can't believe you're for real!

It wouldn't be 1:1000 anyway it *could* be 1:1000 people actually infected with it.

I wouldn't say that a letting agent comes into contact with a lot of people each day anyway. They work in small offices with few employees and the turnover of custom coming in is very low.

If they do come into your house, just wash your hands immiadately after they leave

I feel sorry for you really :(

100,000 people caught it this week alone, and there have only been 31 deaths so far, the majority of which had underlying health problems.

100,000 have contacted their GP saying they possibly have the symptoms, rather than 100,000 have it. It's impossible to say how many have had it/have it because testing is not taking place, it's just a tick box list with people self diagnosing at home and then telling a call centre person or their GP.

It's good old fashioned media hype. We were all going to die from Bird flu, masks would have to be worn, schools would be closed.....
