And Surbiton is in the London Borough of Kingston....RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -

I let loads of the geography/map blunders go.
I only every hear this about Surrey
Why do people who live in south west London say they live in Surrey?
Do people in south east London claim to be in Kent?
Perhaps they do........
But it does seem unique to Surrey.
If you don't pay your council tax to one of Surreys districts, THEN YOU DON'T LIVE IN SURREY:rotfl:
If you pay to the London borough of XYZ, then you live in London:rolleyes:0 -
Is there a London Borough of Surrey?0

Most parts of South Croydon are very exclusive green and leafy with some very beautiful houses. It's West Croydon which is tatty. South Croydon borders Selsdon and some of the houses there are out this world. They're fabulous.
Again London

The London borough of Kingston sort of pokes out quite significantly into Surrey, which is why I think it's sometimes referred to as Surrey...
Presumably the OP didn't necessarily want to live in Surrey itself, but within reasonable distance of Surbiton, which includes London!0 -
Back to original topic! OP are you planning to drive or get train? If train, then Woking, West Byfleet (more expensive but lovely), Byfleet are nice and you would be able to get something quite nice for £300k.
If driving, anything close to the A3 - which is a wide area! I would stay north of Guildford as the traffic on the A3 around this area is awful.Paying down the mortgage:
At 1 October 2011: £226,000
Currently: £224,499
Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
Paid £1,500
Target remaining: 88.89%0
