Any suggestions on cheap but nice areas of Surrey for first time buying. I need to be able to get to Surbiton quite easily for work.
Thanks

Do the words "cheap", "nice" and "Surrey" often appear in the same sentence?0

You're probably right...But surely there's no harm in asking0

Umm… the crappier areas of New Malden, Malden and Raynes Park?

anywhere in a band from south croydon west through wallington, carshalton and sutton is a fair price for what you get.0

I wouldn't consider buying a place unless you've lived there for a while first - have you thought about renting while you search??0

Woking? 15-20 mins on the train to surbiton....0

I bought my first flat in South Sutton and commuted to Tolworth It was one of the few places where I could afford to get on the property ladder as at the time I lived in Walton on Thames. South Sutton is the "nicer" end of Sutton, quite a few victorian properties, and a bit greener. Back when I lived there, my commute took about 40 minutes for 6 miles.....
Another option may be West Molesey, towards the East Molesey end there are some nice little roads, although you'd be dangerously close to all the shoe shops in Kingston. Can't remember the road names but there's some lovely little one bedroom houses there for comparatively low prices.
Good luck!0 -
Some peak trains from Farnborough (main) station stop at Surbiton - its on the Hants / Surrey border and has good links to M3 as well.
There are dodgy areas but good ones as well and it is a LOT cheaper than its surrounding Surrey neighbours - worth a thought??:hello:0 -

Most parts of South Croydon are very exclusive green and leafy with some very beautiful houses. It's West Croydon which is tatty. South Croydon borders Selsdon and some of the houses there are out this world. They're fabulous.0
