I am not an alcoholic!!!, at least I don't think I am!!
I do like a drink!!, yes everyday!! Even a whole bottle of wine!! and more, but very occassionally!!
I can go without a drink, but I do want to, just like i want chocolate!! Wine and Tescos offers are my downfall!!
Lately I have been drinking 2 - 3 g&ts (slimline of course!!) I am not as keen on the taste so dont drink it like it is lager!!! ( this is my problem I do not sip wine!!!! )
I feel like I have had a drink, but still go to bed sober!!!! (and wake up without the worrying feeling of what have I done or sad!! and to my kids!!!!!!!!!!!)
That was until the tesco offer!! Wolf Blass, 1000 points, 1/2 price no del charge!!! I cant resist a bargain, and I cant resist wine!!!!
I have bared my all today!!!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
Hey guys
Hope your all doing well, no one seems to be posting at the moment. Had a talk with OH, and altho he doesn't think I should go to AA meetings, he things I should give up the drink.
And I'm going to tryStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Im trying to cut down on the drink. Although I don't drink in the day (unless its a wedding or Christmas), once it gets to 6-7.00 pm I start thinking about vodka and fizzy orange, or if Im having certain foods for tea I fancy a glass of red wine to wash it down. If I start on the vodka I will have 5 or 6 (and not pub measures!) but if I have red wine I have 2 glasses. I know this is too much each day and have decided to really cut down in the week and just drink at weekends.
I haven't had a drink tonight but I feel as though Im missing something and keep wanting to eat? My OH is the same and has beer every night and we both keep saying we must cut down. He is carrying on though even though Im not drinking anything. Neither of us turn horrible with drink so theres no problem there, we are just worried about our health, plus Im sick of feeling so tired all the time.
Ive read a bit through this thread but its quite long, can anyone give any hints or tips or put a link to wherever this has been discussed?0 -
Not sure what you want to know.
If you are used to drinking, the chances are you will find it harder to go to sleep, until your body aclimatises to lack of drink. Once it does, it did for me anyway, the sleep improved and I got to sleep quicker
Also when I stopped drinking, I started eating chocolate, I needed the sugar substitute.
Exercise might be worth considering, a 20 minute walk a day, not a bad idea.0 -
Just had a phone call from a certain relative and, although they werent funny with me, I feel upset now. I just want a vodka and orange now to feel better.0

Perhaps temporary is better than not at all?0

If you think you need it, it would suggest you have a dependency, which isn't good. So you should be looking at an alternative, what it would be I don't know.
Do you have children?0 -
Yeah, two girls, 19 and 16. They're great, one at college and one just started uni.0

My eldest hates me when I have had too much to drink, she is 16!!
I just dont know when to stop. The drink eggagerates how I feel, so I may be happy and silly or very very jealous or when irtcomes to my kids, I winge about how they dont appreciate me!! especially my eldest, well really only her, but to be honest she doesnt!
In the morning I hate myself!! I say I wont do it again!! Then I do!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0
