These links may help with drinking, but not with your partner's behaviour
I'm afraid I know nothing about such matters
Here is a link to the UK Drinkline
It also has further useful links on its page
Also Alcohoholics Anonymous Homepage
They may be worth a read if nothing else

Hiya Micheleen, I see you're 4 weeks gone :T that's good going! thanks for the links I'll read them in a minute.
My Partner hasn't got a sensitive bone in his body unfortunately and I have always had a feeling he wouldn't be there in a crisis if you know what I mean? this is the first time I've ever asked him for anything, I don't even ask him for a cup of tea, he's a cheeky, selfish, male chauvanistic prat! I am so upset with him! Last year I suggested we give up smoking, said we didn't have to rush into it, let's just make plans and set a date etc. stock up on any nic replacement we needed etc. we both sucessfully gave up and haven't smoked since, lastnight he said "you've already made me give up smoking!! I'm not giving up drinking aswell!" I didn't even ask him to give up drinking and never, ever, would because he doesn't have the problem does he? but he's really, really, glad to have given up smoking so why is he throwing that in my face? I've done him a favour by encouragement!! he's a few years younger than me and may aswell be 20 years younger because he acts like it! :rotfl: I'm laughing now because I'm rambling!! ignore me!0 -
Hey Guys, just a quick hello from me
Just wanted to say welcome to Natalie, I'll read thru all your posts when I'm back on monday, nice to have you hear
I've not drank since thursday, even managed to avoid it when OH said it would do me good to get completely !!!!ed!
Things aren't good really, had a row with OH on friday, only a little tiff, but he said the one thing he knows that he isn't ever allowed to say to me in an arguement, and I feel kinda bad now.
Its amazing how one word can break your heart and you spirit all at once
Men eh! Confidence is in tatters, don't want to be near him, don't trust him and all that now!
Anyways, I'm sober still
Catch you all tomorrow x

Hiya Feelinggood (but not feeling that good huh?)
I'm happier tonight as my partner hasn't had a drink in front of me for 2 nights! after Friday and me telling him he was insensitive it seems it's sunk in and he's respected my wishes (I don't expect him to give up booze forever or even for long, just for now).. I'm one week into my new lifeI can't remember ever going a week without alcohol
I went to bed early nearly every night lastweek just to pass the time (and I was really tired for some reason), so feel I deserve a late one tonight :rotfl: hark me the fun time girl! here I am in my PJ's with a hot chocolate (at least it isn't horlicks cos then I'd be worried for myself!).
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and thanks for welcoming me!
ps: we were in the pub all afternoon, one of those with the hellish childrens area, had a lovely meal and didn't have booze, I would normally have 2 large wines under 'normal' circumstances while my OH would drive so I'm thinking I am doing pretty well so far.
See you in the morning.

Good for you Nat, you're playing a blinder:)
If you do drink, stopping can really bu6ger up your sleep patterns;) I do have ovaltine to help send me off, but even without it I'm getting much better quality sleep
Childrens play areas could drive anyone to drink;)0
