Hi Rachel
Thank you so much for your lovely post. This thread has been my lifeline. Even when I didn't feel able to post I could come along and "lurk" and it always made me feel better. Martin hasn't closed the thread, he has always fully supported it. Unfortunately there are some very nasty people around who take advantage of people who are feeling vulnerable. Sadly this is what has happened on here and many people now feel unable to post. We have poured our hearts out on here and had so much help, kindness and friendship in return so its very sad that it has been sabotaged. I also hope people will continue to post as I feel we can't let mean minded people destroy what we have built up here.
Thank you again

Shirl, don't go. It wasn't your fault and we need you.0

the MSE community is now so large that we are bound to find the good, the bad and the ugly here, as in real life
but if the thread helps you then keep posting, ignore the bad and the troublemakers and I'll try to delete their posts for you (feel free to pm me if I miss anything)
if something has upset you then step back, take a break and hopefully when you return it will have been resolved
all the members who gain so much from this thread are also giving someone else something - someone to talk to
and we lurkers who rarely post but regularly read, are wishing you all the best every dayxxx

I hope ac won't mind me posting these words a day early but this song has been running through my head for the past few days and they seem somewhat appropriate...
I don't think God will mind if you substitute friends for God and in the words of Dave Allen, may your God go with you today
It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)
(Words & music by Stuart Hamblin)
The chimes of time ring out the news,
Another day is through.
Someone slipped and fell.
Was that someone you?
You may have longed for added strength,
Your courage to renew.
Do not be disheartened,
For I have news for you.
It is no secret what God can do.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.
There is no night for in His light
You never walk alone.
Always feel at home,
Wherever you may go.
There is no power can conquer you
While God is on your side.
Take Him at His promise,
Don't run away and hide.
It is no secret what God can do.
What He's done for others, He'll do for you.
With arms wide open, He'll pardon you.
It is no secret what God can do.
I make no apology for posting the words of this song which unlike many hymns will still be in copyright as I am sure it is less than 70 years "old".0 -
You will have me in tears soon Edinburghlass. Never heard that one before, its lovely.0
